Library, Wednesday

Wow, the library was quiet today. Just eerily, completely silent. There wasn't even the occasional rustle of paper as somebody turned a page or a book got itself up to some mischief.

Peridot opened her mouth to announce that she didn't trust it. No sound came out at all.

She frowned at that, and then thumped her fists on the returns desk a few times with similar results.

And then, just to be sure, she opened a door and slammed it repeatedly, hoping for a different result.

This was going to just keep escalating. Don't even ask where she found that trumpet.

[OOC: Open! Quiet! But open!]

Naturally, one of the first people to come to mind to invite to Hyrule was none other than the Littlest Big Sibling, and he believed with great confidence that he would find her here at the library that day.

It was true that Sidon had never exactly possessed much of a library voice, nor was he aware that such a thing existed. So it was especially surprising when he opened his mouth to deliver his customarily cheerful and boisterous greeting, only to hear no such greeting at all.

Surprised, a little confused, Sidon immediately expressed his astonishment at this bewildering state of affairs, but, of course, that could scarcely be heard as well. He continued, postulating on the reason for such an unexpected silence, quite a bit at length despite the fact that there was no volume to his words. There were gestures, though, grand as usual, which finally settled into a puzzled look and a thoughtful stroke of his chin, marveling curiously as this unusual phenomenon.

Sidon truly couldn't help laughing (albeit silently) at that, and he began to respond before reaching the door, though he made his way for it post haste.

"--eculiar!" his voice picked up once he'd crossed the threshold. "I came down here to speak with you about something, Peridot, so I suppose we must do it here in the hallway, or else we dedicate ourselves to written correspondence should we wish to remain in the confines of the library itself. How are you handling such a strange occurrence?"

"Whatever in the world could the books be plotting?" Sidon asked, having difficulty imagining such a thing. To his credit, though, he'd probably seen fewer than five books during his entire life before coming here.

And Sidon leaned down the moment Peridot leaned up, thought it didn't do much good. After the quiet, though, it was easy enough to pick up her whisper, and he gasped in accordance to the drama unfolding before him.

"Well!" he said, "I certainly hope book things are good things! But speaking of planning, I was actually planning something, and I was rather curious if you might be interested in partaking. It's a trip," he teased, "to someplace...rather special."

"Why," said Sidon, sweeping his arms open grandly and laughing, "it's none other than Hyrule, my home world, and Zora's Domain, my kingdom! I intend to spend a portion of the next week back in my wonderful watery birthplace, and I thought it would be a much more enjoyable journey should some of my dearest friends be able to accompany me."

He couldn't help grinning fondly down (and down and down!) at those wide-eyes. "Though, of course, if you don't think you'd want to, I'd understand."

Sidon chuckled, pleased and completely charmed that Peridot might be as excited about it as he hoped she would be. "I was planning to depart quite early on Tuesday morning," he explained. "I believe that is the First of May in the calendar followed here on Earth, to return on Friday the Fourth, not a very long stay, but certainly long enough to experience a little more of Hyrule than just Zora's Domain, if you and the others wish, and to get us back with plenty of time before the start of the new semester and the welcome picnic for new students. I imagine you should be fine with bringing just yourself and your endearing, wonderful thirst for new experiences, and I'm sure it would be wise to bring something to take notes if you so desire, but keep in mind, Zora's Domain is much, much...wetter than Fandom Island."

"Whatever you come up with," Sidon said brightly, with a pump of his fist, "I'm sure it will be brilliant! And, yes, I was hoping to extend an invitation to all of the dearest friends I've made while attending school here. The more, the merrier, after all! I plan to invite my own little sibling Norman to come along, as well as Tip and Breq. They have heard me talk endlessly about my cherished home that they will no doubt be a bit curious to see it with their own eyes! Uma, as well, I have not known her for as long, but I do think she would enjoy it and I'd very much like to show her some things. Also, I will extend an invitation to my roommate Paris, though, truth be told, I do not think she is likely to take me up on it. I...think she gets quite enough Zora from living with me to last her for a good while."

There was a faint, somewhat sad pause there, but he brightened back up quickly, with a particular sharpness to his grin and a bit of a playful wink.

"Naturally, though, you are the very first person I wanted to invite."
