Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

There really was just no getting around the fact that it was cold outside today as Fandom welcomed its newest residents. Food? Check. Nametags and lists for people to look at for their siblings and roommates? Check. Bonfire? Definite check, it was hard to miss in the center of the lawn. Temperature away from the fire? Around 40F/5C.

At least there was a lot of warm food and chairs by the fire?

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Cool," Bobby said with a nod. And then, after a beat: "Soooo, what does that mean, exactly, anyway?"

"Mostly that I give you the rundown on the island and answer any immediate questions you have," Tip said. "And, like, you can find me and ask me more later, but I gather most people don't worry so much about that part."

"Okay, okay, so like... what is the rundown, then? Is this island secretly floating in space? Are we in a weird pocket hell dimension?"

"Not recently," Tip said. If he wasn't joking, she was pretty impressed. "But I think it is probably an interdimensional nexus? Just about everyone here comes from a totally different universe."

"Does that happen a lot?" He'd kind of assumed his previous schools were outliers when it came to that sort of thing, but maybe it was more common than he'd thought.

"More often than it does most other places, I'd guess," Tip said. "Maybe two or three times a year."
