Library, Saturday
Ahsoka hadn't needed the radio to know something was up. The Force hung heavy and foreboding, and itched in her teeth and montrals, again. She was just glad that she wasn't having those kind of dreams this time. Yet.
She distracted herself by reordering the books, and refilling the caf.

Re: Research
Well. Peridot was scouring the stacks. Pumpkin was chewing on her own tail... vine... thing. As you do.
Re: Research
Who needed tact? Not a half-empty immortal, certainly.
"Are we certain it's not in league with the slugs?"
Re: Research
"There are slugs?"
Look, Peridot had just gotten wind of there being something going on, and she had been planning on spending her time in the library anyway, as it was a quiet and productive place to be. Nobody had told her about slugs.
Pumpkin, meanwhile, looked up at Jenkins in confusion. He didn't know her? She knew him!
Re: Research
Re: Research
Peridot was quiet for a long moment.
"As a Gem," she said, finally, squinting at him. "Are you another Jenkins?"
Did humans actually have more than one of each type and they'd been pulling her leg this whole entire time?
Re: Research
Re: Research
Peridot paused, and then nodded, slowly.
"Sort of," she allowed. "My Earth isn't the same Earth as this Earth. That's about the extent of my experience with it."
She'd kind of just assumed that there were two of him. Maybe more. Maybe they really did grow people in the ground here and there was some big human conspiracy to throw the Gem off the trail of their Kindergarten completely.
Re: Research
"Close enough," Jenkins decided. "I'm from a version of Fandom much different from this one. My compatriots and I have come to save your world."
Re: Research
Peridot's mouth formed a little o-shape.
"Oooooh." She blinked. "From the slugs?"
Re: Research
That wasn't what she'd asked, Jenkins.
"But no, actually. The cult that they came with."

Special Collections (Dun dun dun)
To your left is a small but heavy stone door, floating in space. It seems impenetrable, locked and unusable.
Perhaps there is some other way to find where you want to go... especially if you can read the stars.
Re: Special Collections (Dun dun dun)
Astronomy had never been Constantine's strong suit in school, mostly because he was a high school dropout. Being able to read them for divination purposes, however? Well, he was no Xanadu or Rose, but he could get on well enough at recognizing the major ones, and going from there.
With a glance at Aphra's notes he set off confidently, striding across star fields, appearing utterly unconcerned that there was nothing under his feet. These were the rules of magic, not science. And magic would do what he damn well wanted it to do.
He turned right at Cassiopeia and--
"Well now, what have we got here?"
On a pedestal sat a small, tattered, unassuming little book. More of a pamphlet, really, and Constantine carefully lifted it from its rest, mindful not to damage it as he cracked the covers open.
"Not much to you, is there, old girl?" he murmured, flipping through the thin volume. "'December 1768,' no wonder you're in rough shape, and look at that..." John poked at the spine a bit, and the few tattered, tell-tale bits of remaining paper. "Someone's gone and ripped a page out of you, too."
"Now, what have you got left in here, eh? 'Ritual that Desummoneth?' The fuck kind of word is 'desummoneth?'"
Place upon each corner the following items:
A single fork, of no great heritage;
A pumpkin, shining in its simplicity;
A daisy;
A writing implement containing no frills;
A strand of brown hair.
Then chant these words aloud:
Begone, foul thing--
Begone, foul thing--
We find you loathsome, revolting, and quite smelly;
Your tendrils strike us as outrageous.
Catapultam, turpi ilud!
"Your author's latin is shite, and their spells structure is even worse," he informed the book, slipping it into his inner suit pocket. "But you're the best lead we've got, and I've tried stupider. Let's go talk to the others."
Re: Special Collections (Dun dun dun)
He had actually been quite adept at celestial navigation in his day, though he was terribly out of practice. He mostly used the stars these days for astrological purposes, rather than astronomical. Still, he felt perfectly capable of finding his way around.
Ah, Virgo! He'd always felt a particular affinity for that one in his youth. Perhaps he'd explore that way. . . .
Re: Special Collections (Dun dun dun)
A strange noise permeated the area of Special Collections Jenkins had wandered into. A yipping, like some small mammal demanding attention.
Multiple small mammals.
But there was nothing in sight just yet.

Re: Special Collections (Dun dun dun)
Far in the distance were strange, heavy, rabbit-like creatures with large fangs and teeth. And on their backs were men: large, heavy-set men, in metal armor, their heads held high.
Re: Special Collections (Dun dun dun)
"Hail!" he called, raising one hand. "And well met, I should hope."
Re: Special Collections (Dun dun dun)
The man at the front raised his helmet-mask and frowned at Jenkins. "Uh, hail... that. Yeah. What are you doing here?"

Re: Special Collections (Dun dun dun)
"No! 12th century!" one of the men behind him yelled.
"No, clearly this is all a simulation of some sort," a third sighed.
"Nerd!" someone in the back proclaimed.
