Political Campaigning [Tuesday, March 21, 4th period]

Josh was sitting behind his desk for all the world like he hadn't been gone for almost a month.

He gave the Campaigning class a welcoming grin when they arrived.

"Hey all," he said, checking his syllabus. "I think we're supposed to be talking about political consultants and other people you hire. It's pretty easy. Hire Bruno Gianelli. It'll cost your soul, but he's a steal at that kind of price."

He kicked his feet onto his desk. "What'd I miss?" He looked around the room. "And, um, Rory--how many days until the election?"

"I'd love to hear what Donna did," Josh said, his eyes twinkling.

"He found a speaker on the Internet. For free. And was actually surprised when it turned out the speaker was evil." Parker shook her head very sadly. "He's not allowed to play with the computer by himself any more."

Josh snickered. "How evil? Sales tax evil? My death ray will destroy all of Townsville evil?" He paused. "Republican evil?"

"Republican evil," Parker said sadly. "That vampire Liz told you about? Had a webpage. BrowBoy thought that because he was 'okay' with vampires, he was the perfect speaker for us. And he waived the *fee*. Wouldn't that tip you off? I mean, if you pay Bruno Gianelli ungodly sums of money, wouldn't you think that this guy was up to something?" She stuck her tongue out at Angel again.

Josh laughed until tears rolled down his cheeks. "Yeah, that would be a bit of a tip off. But mistakes happen."

He grinned. "I bet I couldn't even get Bruno to waive his fee to come speak to you. I'd have to give him, like, a spleen or something."
