Advanced Criminal Justice, Class 19, Period 1, 03.21.06

[OOC: Yay! Project! A more detailed OOC explanation of the project will be coming late this afternoon. Just work on developing your own theory based on cartoons for now. Groups announced in OCD threads. Metaphor and EC will be posted later as well are finally up. Class Info Post.]

The Tick was at the front of the room as always. Lockheed was givig hopeful glances to Cameron from his normal book shelf.

"Hello, students! Today you will be starting on your big project for the semester. It's actually pretty simple. I'll split you into groups of two. Each group will figure out a theory - any theory - about how Justice works. Take Parker's Darwinist view of Justice, for example (well, don't take it, it's hers). Once you have a theory worked out, you'll be using any of these cartoons documentaries on my desk to showcase the theory."

"Pending Professor Mac's approval which I totally forgot to get beforehand, oops, I'd like to use the Danger Shop to showcase these theories at life size and see if they hold true. Your theories and how they apply to the documentaries are due two weeks from today."

"This project is all about teaming up with someone and compromising on your views of Justice, so get into your groups and get to talking!"

"This weeks metaphor is lightbulbs. And this week's extra credit is to devise a battlecry for your project partner!"

It's possible Angel was still looking but not looking in Logan's direction. "Time and space. Especially that last one. I think that'll do it."

"Huh?" Veronica asked, completely confused. "Your theory of justice involves time and space?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Angel blinked out of his reverie. "Sorry. You say something?"

"I asked what you think we should do for our project," Veronica said, giving him a worried look. "Are you okay?"

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Little tired," he said, waving it off.

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay," Veronica said, not quite believing him, but not about to push.

"So, what are your thoughts on justice?"

"A big long merry-go-round that they shove you on and you think you're getting somewhere good only to find yourself jerked away and forced back into the exact same spot you started from," Angel muttered, still looking but not looking at Logan. "Over and over and over again."

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Veronica frowned.

"Um okay," she said. "Is there something going on? You don't seem yourself today."

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Now Angel looked worried. "I don't? How much not me do I seem like?"

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
She shrugged. "I don't know. You're kind of rambling though, which is definitely not like you. Maybe Janet shouldn't have released you so soon."

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Angel took another look at Logan and then facepalmed. "I should be locked up is what should've happened."

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Veronica glanced in the direction that Angel kept looking.

And remembered the radio broadcast the previous night saying that Angel and Logan had had a date.

And remembered how adamant Angel was about not kissing Logan.

She tilted her head. "Is there something you need to tell me?"

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Angel kept his face buried. "Would you believe me if I said no?"

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Probably not," she admitted, casting a glance of her own in Logan's direction.

"But if it's something you think maybe Logan needs to talk to me about, I'll totally understand that."

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't have sex with him!" Angel said, because the lesson to clear that up right out of the gate had finally sunk in.

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh, well, that's good to hear," Veronica said. "Also not what I was thinking."

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh."

It might have been possible for Angel to turn redder but... it'd be difficult.

He grabbed his pen and paper. "So... justice. Justice. Justicey. Boy howdy."

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Veronica leaned forward.

"Angel? Is there something weird going on with you and Logan? Did you guys decide to... practice for the boykissy thing and not tell me?" she asked quietly.

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
"No sex, no boykissy, no hugging, no hand-holding, no looks, no touching, no nothing," Angel said. His hand started to draw something in his notebook. As soon as he saw what it was he slammed the book shut.

"So where I'm from justice tends to be a destiny thing. Yep. All about the destiny far as I'm concerned. You?"

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Justice where I'm from is all about the haves and the have-nots," Veronica said. "If you're rich, you get away with murder. If you're not..."

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Angel thought about it. "Maybe some people are destined to be haves?"

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe," she said. "But that doesn't make it fair. Should an elderly grandmother take the fall for a rich skank? Shouldn't justice be fair?"

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Should be a lot of things," Angel said. "Doesn't mean it is."

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] marsheadtilt.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah," Veronica sighed. "Do you think there's some way to relate that to cartoons?"

Re: Group 4: Angel/Veronica [Class 19]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-22 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Angel tapped his pen on the desk. "Justice is destined to never make sense?"
