Library, Thursday (December 8)

The fog that seemed to envelop the entire island today was hardly enough, in and of itself, to cause Cosette much alarm. The strange creatures, on the other hand, and the sudden deterioration of many of the buildings in town?

Those things were more than enough to have her hurrying into the library early today in lieu of her morning walk, and making sure that the tables and chairs were arranged to accommodate a good-sized group of people. She was fairly certain she knew what to expect today, if past experience was any indication.

"Won't be able to miss it," Ahsoka said absently as she turned a page. "It's very dramatic."

She was the absolute worst right now. Honestly.

"And that's just supposed to be normal?" Rhys asked, voice going up a little at the end.

Ahsoka shrugged. "He does it a lot."

Blame Obi-Wan's overdeveloped sense of drama, Rhys.

He would if he wasn't assuming Obi-Wan was going to fight people in the nude.

"Uh huh," he muttered, giving her a look like he'd just met her.

Also, his drama level leaned more toward raging narcissists.

Ahsoka's tended more towards 'and now everything was on fire'. "Don't worry, right now, he's more likely to be cranky over the lack of decent caf than anything."

Well, the everything on fire was a given with--you know what? Not important. "I will keep that in mind," Rhys promised her. Then muttered, "Because it's seared into it."

Now Rhys was the one getting the funny look. "Okaaaaaaay."

He was trying to be supportive and understanding of her weird, stripper past with a bearded guy!

"So, actual book research?"

She didn't have a weird stripper past with Obi-Wan. Okay so there had been strippers, but not either of them.

"With actual books, even." That was still so weird.

Was it Anakin? Anakin seemed the stripper type. It was the hair, you see.

"Have they considered how much easier it'd be to have digital copies?"

Ahsoka didn't even want to think about that possibility.

"I think the power's out," she said, glancing dubiously around the library.

Deal with it, Ahsoka.

"If there's a generator somewhere, I could try getting it going," he said, perking up as he looked around. The new ECHO eye glowed just a bit as he tried scanning with it.

It was, admittedly, a work in progress on what it picked up on.

"You could." It'd probably keep him out of trouble at least.

That... was pretty accurate.

"I'll look." And probably literally stumble over a clue. As was his way.
