Library, Friday

Books fell from the shelves today. When put back they fell again. By now Lucille was used to their antics and suspected that they would eventually return to their places, and decided this was a good excuse to spend her shift reading.

Khadgar had been told about the library, but he'd been spending most of his free time exploring the town, so he hadn't had a chance to acquaint himself with everything in the school yet. When he came through the door to the library, all he could do was gaze around for a moment, surprised by the number of books the school possessed. Sorry Lucille, he'd notice you too at some point, eventually.

Khadgar understood how important it was to be undisturbed while reading, but he also didn't want to touch something he shouldn't and be run out of the place before he'd even looked around. So, he approached the desk quietly and gave Lucille a charming smile. "Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you. Do you work here?"

"Great," he said happily. "Then you'll certainly know--are we allowed to look at any of the books here that we want? Or are there some shelves that are off limits?" Not that he wouldn't try to get to those anyway, but it would still be good to know.

Khadgar had the good sense to look a little guilty, and he quietly nodded as he backed away from the desk. Then, he turned around and disappeared towards the books, grinning harder. If he got bitten, he'd try very hard to be quiet, but he was more likely to just keep digging into the books anyway.
