So, the heat meant that many of the tables and chairs had been set up in the shade, and someone had found outdoor table umbrellas in blue and gold, god help us all. But hey, a little heat never hurt anyone who wasn't a vampire, right?

Ahem. The picnic was open for warm, sunny business.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Did it take you a while to get those pants on?" Ringo asked, sort of smirking once Dante eventually made it to the picnic.

She probably should have known better than to start in on Dante when she was still mildly uncomfortable in her own bikini-top and cutoff shorts ensemble.

"What?" Ringo looked down at herself. Then, with a sort of self-confidence she wouldn't have been able to muster last year, she looked back up at Dante with a grin. "Thinking about how amazing I look?"

Ringo rolled her eyes.

But she also reached down to tug lightly at her top. "What? It's not that tight or anything."

"And neither are these pants," said Dante, who wore pretty damn tiny jeans on any given day.

(It was probably another Nephilim superpower.)

She glanced down at said pants, then looked up at Dante again, eyebrows raised. "Those don't count as tight?"

Again, if you were used to skinny jeans, maybe.

"Uh huh." Ringo shrugged. "Actually, I might be able to get something like those on. I think I'm more impressed that you don't seem to have any problems moving."

To be fair, Dante had mostly been sitting around.

"Does that mean you've been watching me?" he teased. "Didn't know you cared, Ringo."

It was possible that Ringo was confused about which of the two of them was a pain in the butt.

"You ever met you?" Dante asked.

"Did you just get here?" she asked after a moment. "You're generally pretty hard to miss, after all." And she'd only just spotted him.

"I've been here for the past half hour," Dante said, shrugging. "I think. Slept in."

"Hey, some of us had a nice night," Dante said, grinning at her. "Wanted to hang on to that mood a while longer, instead of being irritating at everyone. Like some people."

Just, you know, because she'd slept well. Different thing entirely.

"And someone's gotta make sure that the newbies get a proper, friendly greeting." Not like she was going to trust Dante with a job like that.
