So, the heat meant that many of the tables and chairs had been set up in the shade, and someone had found outdoor table umbrellas in blue and gold, god help us all. But hey, a little heat never hurt anyone who wasn't a vampire, right?

Ahem. The picnic was open for warm, sunny business.

"Did you just get here?" she asked after a moment. "You're generally pretty hard to miss, after all." And she'd only just spotted him.

"Hey, some of us had a nice night," Dante said, grinning at her. "Wanted to hang on to that mood a while longer, instead of being irritating at everyone. Like some people."

Just, you know, because she'd slept well. Different thing entirely.

"And someone's gotta make sure that the newbies get a proper, friendly greeting." Not like she was going to trust Dante with a job like that.

Dante glanced past her, studying the crowd. "I'd call Ada's more of a tank than a bikini..."

Ringo rolled her eyes. "Well, I suppose you could rely on Ada for proper greetings," she allowed. "But I was talking about someone else. Someone who just happens to be an amazing beach volleyball player."

Eyebrows went up. "I suppose that, depending on what you mean by 'proper greeting', Isabela might be a decent choice? Though she might come on a bit strong for some people."

Unlike Ringo, obviously.

"So maybe someone else. Like an amazing AirTrek rider."
