Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

So, the heat meant that many of the tables and chairs had been set up in the shade, and someone had found outdoor table umbrellas in blue and gold, god help us all. But hey, a little heat never hurt anyone who wasn't a vampire, right?

Ahem. The picnic was open for warm, sunny business.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Hate it, hate it, hate it, hate it, oooh, chocolate," Kuzco muttered as he pointed at the food table.

The food table he was sharing with other people. That he had to walk to himself. This place was the worst.

"Nice hat," Tip said, holding up her camera. "Can I take your picture?"

"Let me give you my good side," Kuzco said, turning his head and posing.

Because everyone from ancient Incan society knew about good sides. Shush.

Tip snorted and snapped a photo. The conversation was only a few seconds old, so she wasn't irritated yet. "Thanks. I'm Gratuity."

Give him time!

"Kuzco," he replied. "You getting pictures of everyone, or just the cool people?"

"I got a lot of crowd shots," Tip said. "So everyone's probably included. But I'm only taking solo shots of interesting people."

Oh sure, Tip. Feed his ego. It's clearly starving.

Withering away!

"Good choice," he agreed. "I am definitely the most interesting."

Based on his three interactions with people.

". . . You're definitely wearing the biggest hat." Maybe he was nervous about his first day. "So . . . what brings you to Fandom?"

"Oh, leadership conference," Kuzco said, "which my school lackey--" sibling, "--told me isn't really a thing."

"Yeeeeah, I haven't heard about it," Tip said. "But I guess I don't know everything that goes on around here? So . . . maybe."

Kuzco shrugged. "I'll figure it out. I'm a survivor."

Mmm...not so much.

"That's good." Tip didn't want to just assume flat out that Kuzco was full of it -- but she was kind of assuming flat out that Kuzco was full of it. He looked like he was made out of uncooked spaghetti. "That'll be useful around here."

"Wait, why?" Kuzco hadn't exactly been doing a lot of listening today. Go figure.

"Did your sib -- uh." She wasn't going to call whoever that poor person was a 'lackey'. "The person the school assigned to you explain anything?"

"She was bowled over by being in the presence of royalty," Kuzco said. "You know how it is."

"Yeah." Tip's tone was dead flat. And here she'd thought she might actually have found a place where no one was an idiot like they were back home. "So every now and then something shows up on the island and tries to kill everybody."

Don't sugar coat it or anything, Tip.
