Class was being held in the Danger Shop, which had been set to simulate a mall. Specoifically, a mall filled entirely with clothing stores in varying price ranges and styles.

Including one store that, inexplicably, sold nothing but green clogs. Jackson hadn't even noticed that one yet. Even if he had, though, he wouldn't have cared. He was recycling this sim from the last iteration of this workshop, anyway. He took no responsibility for anything.

He was standing in front of a Hugo Boss store, because of course. "Today, you're gonna go around the mall with your fake, limitless credit cards, and you're gonna assemble an outfit that you think is awesome," he explained, lazily, like he could just barely be bothered. "You can do it by yourself or alone, I really don't care. Just make sure you have a new outfit by the time you come back here at the end of class that you can show off and that I and the rest can judge the hell out of."

At least he was honest about his intentions.

He waved them off. "Go."

"Well, I know what kind of outfit will make me feel awesome." It involved lots of leather and no small amount of skin. Probably a hat too. "So what kind will make you happy?"

Other people's opinions could take a long walk off a short pier.

"Short, easy t' move in," she said with a grin. "Bonus if'n it sparkles."

Ada's 'awesome' also included no small amount of skin and sometimes a hat. This was why they were friends.

"There's lots of ways we can accomplish sparkles," Isabela said. "Sequins, glass beads, tiny mirrors, gold thread in the cloth, chips of crystals or precious stone..."

Jackson was going to regret giving Isabela a fake, limitless credit card.

"I like shiny, 'specially if'n it helps camouflage..." Ada gestured vaguely towards her collarbone, and the scales currently disguised with a thin application of body glitter.

Ada was comfortable enough around Isabela and Dante to not try and hide her scales when it was just them. Other people? Not so much. No matter how trustworthy Fandom pretended to be.

After the last few weeks, Isabela trusted the island about as far as she could kick it.

"Beads or crystal would catch the light best," she said, after thinking about it. "Especially if they're placed to draw the eye where you want it." Three guesses where Isabela's eyes were.

Ada snickered. "Eyes up, 'Bela," she teased. Though if she leaned a little closer while they walked, well, she didn't think Isabela would mind a bit of cozy. "Or you're gonna trip over your own feet an' fall over b'fore I can stun you with my awesomeness."

Isabela did not mind cozy at all. "It would be a shame if I fell at your feet at an inappropriate moment."

"Pretty sure class is an inappropriate moment," Ada laughed, "--but I bet we can find a good time later."

Ada, no, don't pick-up your classmates during the exercise.

Did it really count as picking-up when Isabela was all but hoisting herself into Ada's hands?

So to speak.

"Depends, were you planning on doing anything after class?"

Ada pretended to think about it for a second. "You?" she guessed, giving Isabela an impish grin. "With Cosima gone, m' room is lonely."

Isabela grinned back. Broad and cheerful. "Oh, that just won't do," she said, tsk-ing. "I'll have to provide some very good company."

"An' if I decide t' push th' beds together, you'll have t' come help," Ada said sagely. "I can't possibly do it all by myself."

"Definitely the kind of thing you need a helping hand with." Isabela nodded her agreement. "Someone who'll really put their back into it."

"...maybe I should ask Dante t' do it. Shirtless. An' we can sit an' watch with popcorn." Look, when you had friends with super-strength, sometimes you made them put it to use. For both practical and pretty purposes.

Isabela's grin got a little broader and she went to sling her arm around Ada's shuolder. "Have I mentioned lately that I love the way you think," she asked. "Though we'll have to think of some way to properly thank him."

"We're clever," Ada assured her, slipping her arm around Isabela's waist. "If'n he needs a bribe, we'll find him somethin' sweet."

Dirty. Maybe not dirty -- she did make excellent cookies -- but probably Dirty.

"We do know what he enjoys eating."

Dirty. So dirty.

"Filthy," Ada said approvingly, pausing a moment to look in a shop window. "Seein' anything you like yet?"

"Oh, yes," Isabela said, because given that opening of course she was going to take it. "Now as far as the clothes go..."

"Keep that up, an' I might try to kiss you right here," Ada warned, shaking her head and trying to hide a smile. "Yes as far as clothes go."

"Oh, no, anything but that." Isabela was quite obviously intimidated by that warning. Yes. She pointed to a display. "I like the red one."

"Of course you do," Ada sighed. "You'd look good in it, too. Let's go have you try it on."

[And of course I have now watched ALL of Killjoys and it's your fault.]

"Let's," Isabela agreed, tugging Ada into the store.

[I regret nothing. :D]

Ada let herself be tugged and followed Isabela's lead. "If you got anything else similar in her size, just bring it now," she advised the nearest employee. "She'll find it anyway."

Because pirate.

Pirate with a sense for booty. All kinds.

"And anything especially sparkly for her," Isabela said, reluctantly letting go of Ada so she could make grabby hands for the red jacket.
