How to Be Awesome, Wednesday, 3rd Period

Class was being held in the Danger Shop, which had been set to simulate a mall. Specoifically, a mall filled entirely with clothing stores in varying price ranges and styles.

Including one store that, inexplicably, sold nothing but green clogs. Jackson hadn't even noticed that one yet. Even if he had, though, he wouldn't have cared. He was recycling this sim from the last iteration of this workshop, anyway. He took no responsibility for anything.

He was standing in front of a Hugo Boss store, because of course. "Today, you're gonna go around the mall with your fake, limitless credit cards, and you're gonna assemble an outfit that you think is awesome," he explained, lazily, like he could just barely be bothered. "You can do it by yourself or alone, I really don't care. Just make sure you have a new outfit by the time you come back here at the end of class that you can show off and that I and the rest can judge the hell out of."

At least he was honest about his intentions.

He waved them off. "Go."

This was Roscoe's area of expertise, so he was more than willing to help anyone who could use a fashion tutor. He set off purposefully for one of the higher-end department stores to get started on makeup, and he'd go from there.

Neither had Isabela, however she had had a husband who liked to show of his wealth via her clothing, so she knew exactly what to do when money wasn't an object.

"There should be a tailor or dressmaker around here somewhere, sweet thing," she said, offering Ada her arm.

"Here I thought I was th' dressmaker," she said, taking Isabela's arm gratefully and giving her a bright smile. "B'fore I started at Demon Marcus, if'n I wanted something new, I had to make it m'self."

The joys of hundreds of cousins and years of hand-me-downs; Ada owned precious little clothing that hadn't had previous owners.

"This place is insane. How does anyone find anything?"

"That's the trick of it," Isabela said. "Those who've got enough coin can get other people to do all the hard work. I imagine if were possible pay someone to stand around and be fitted for you, they'd do that too."

She looked around. "They must have some way of laying things out."

"What sort of outfit do we wanna find?" Ada mused, looking around. "Fancy dress? Sexy? Casual or magical?"

"Well, I know what kind of outfit will make me feel awesome." It involved lots of leather and no small amount of skin. Probably a hat too. "So what kind will make you happy?"

Other people's opinions could take a long walk off a short pier.

"Short, easy t' move in," she said with a grin. "Bonus if'n it sparkles."

Ada's 'awesome' also included no small amount of skin and sometimes a hat. This was why they were friends.

"There's lots of ways we can accomplish sparkles," Isabela said. "Sequins, glass beads, tiny mirrors, gold thread in the cloth, chips of crystals or precious stone..."

Jackson was going to regret giving Isabela a fake, limitless credit card.

"I like shiny, 'specially if'n it helps camouflage..." Ada gestured vaguely towards her collarbone, and the scales currently disguised with a thin application of body glitter.

Ada was comfortable enough around Isabela and Dante to not try and hide her scales when it was just them. Other people? Not so much. No matter how trustworthy Fandom pretended to be.

After the last few weeks, Isabela trusted the island about as far as she could kick it.

"Beads or crystal would catch the light best," she said, after thinking about it. "Especially if they're placed to draw the eye where you want it." Three guesses where Isabela's eyes were.

Ada snickered. "Eyes up, 'Bela," she teased. Though if she leaned a little closer while they walked, well, she didn't think Isabela would mind a bit of cozy. "Or you're gonna trip over your own feet an' fall over b'fore I can stun you with my awesomeness."
