"I'm... still not completely sure what happened last week," Ender admitted.

This did not happen often, folks.

"There might be a discussion topic in here somewhere about chaos, friendship and harmony," he volunteered, "But I think today we'll have an open floor, and you can talk about what you want."

He shoved a bottle forward. "Please. Make sure to hydrate."

God only knew what being a pony could do to you.

Mara frowned very hard. "I had to go home and miss all the fun."

"You would've considered being part of this mess fun?" Ender checked.

"No?" Mara tried.

Ender raised his eyebrows.

"Well, maybe a little," Mara said. "It's hard to connect to people without shared experiences, even if the experiences are a little odd."

"That's very analytical of you," Ender observed. "Has this generally helped you make connections?"

"Not really," Mara admitted. "I'm not great at small talk."

"I'd say 'remember the time we all turned into ponies and had to fight an evil overlord' might be less than small," Ender said wryly.

"Well, it's probably not the first thing I'd try at a welcome picnic," Mara admitted, "but it's not bad for the common room."
