Library, Sunday

After yet another terribly stressful week of no classes, Face was reading behind his desk. With his eyes closed. And the book over his face.

Yes. Reading.

"I wonder what made them so tired," Cassandra said dryly.

He was lucky she was flying high on 'we're not completely ruined' right now, and so inclined to find everything about him adorable.

Cassandra groaned good-naturedly. "I doubt that is it," she said. "When did you start your nap?"

"So you did work," Cassandra said, with approval in her voice. "I suppose a rest was not completely unwarranted.

Cassandra looked away from him, at the shelves themselves. "Now you are pushing it," she determined.

"I can think of only two," Cassandra said, "And Lucille would have told me if she put in a big order."

She reached out to poke him in the nose. Playfully, in a stiff, Cassandra-esque way.

"Yes," Cassandra said, shaking her head at him. "And stretching it quite far, as it is. You are entirely too fond of sleeping through your workday."

"I did not bring you lunch," Cassandra told him.

Yeah, she knew that wasn't what he was talking about.

Cassandra let out a loud sigh.

She leaned over the desk, slightly more carefully than she might have had last semester. "But you are not talking about lunch."

"Something terribly indulgent, no doubt," Cassandra said. "And terribly lazy."

She encroached a few more inches, then stayed there, not far from Garik's face.

"You are terrible," Cassandra said, rolling her eyes.

Though 'terrible' was all she needed to forget about her nerves long enough to kiss him, at least.

It did. And it was thoroughly distracting in its normalcy.

At least, that was the defense Cassandra would give for the way she put herself into the kiss and dragged it out.

Wasn't it?

Cassandra broke it eventually, but only so she could slide around the desk and try to make her way into his lap.

Which made everything much easier all around. For once, Cassandra was willing to let other parts of herself do the thinking.

Like the parts that wanted to slide her arms around him and kiss him again, threat of librarian be damned.

"... You should take an early lunch," Cassandra mumbled, much later, when she'd finally managed to detach again.

Her mouth from his, anyway.

Cassandra slid back out of his lap, because she was hardly going to remain there, clothed, when they could be somewhere else, ah--

Well.

She snagged his hand and tugged him away from his chair.
