Wednesday 3/15, Library is Open

Zero opened up the library, as usual, and settled in behind the desk to be available for all the student body's libraryish needs. Which frequently seemed to consist of gossiping and bringing the aides pastry, but hey, she wasn't complaining.

"I think so? At least, every time we've ordered take-out, the more traditional stuff has been an option. I haven't been to the actual restaurant." Parker looked thoughtful. "I think Marty and Angela have been? And I'm pretty sure Veronica has."

"Oh. And don't tell anyone else Jarod is responsible for what's about to happen, okay? I could have asked Broots, but the FBI still has him on their watch list."

Parker snickered, then looked sheepish. "Um. Have listened to the radio lately, or gotten a copy of today's newspaper?" That might make her grind her teeth.

[from what I saw, Jarod's getting... creative. More than the IRS now.]

Parker rolled her eyes. "Because it's now public knowledge that I've kissed Jarod. I'll be killing some people about the spread of that info later. Although Jaye has already been kind enough to agree to measures against Skeeter." She may have grinned evilly on that last bit.

Palming her face, Parker nodded. "Sunday. The park. Rehearsing Shakespeare." She muttered, "If I ever need to seduce someone deliberately, obviously Shakespeare is the way to go."

"Thank you, Zero. It's good to know that my friends understand me." Parker grimaced. "Anyway. It's no big deal, really. We're friends. Again. It's good. So. Right. Weirdness over."

She stole some more of Zero's crisps and munched them, looking vaguely depressed.

"Except I do want to be friends, I just want... Yes. Even though it's a bad, bad idea." Parker shook her head. "I'm losing my mind."

"He's more than good-looking. He's-- special." In ways that complicated everything. "I don't know how to do this. Even if I was convinced he felt the same way, which I'm pretty sure he doesn't. But this isn't something I've done before." And there were other considerations.

"Sweet? I don't do sweet! God, first Sandburg, now you! I'm a Parker, I'm hard-edged and steely, sweet is, is, God, it's not me!"

"At least Jarod would never call me sweet."
