Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2016, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

Right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, the ceremony for graduation was ready to go. The lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, which reflected nicely off of the glitter scattered throughout the lawn.

Look, this was one of the last chances to get the students covered in glitter. They might miss Fandom too much without this annoyingly sparkly reminder!

There were chairs set up for all of the graduates, and plenty of seats for guests to come and watch. Hopefully, Fandom's current floaty conditions wouldn't weird anyone out, and as for anything else that might happen during the ceremony... well, the administration was hoping that Fandom had had enough weirdness for a little while, and things would go off without a hitch.

Congratulations, Class of 2016! Today is your day!

Diplomas [Grad 2016]

Once the speeches were over, Zoe came back up to the podium, and called each graduate's name to give them their diploma. Or, in some cases, to give someone else their diploma.

The grin on Alana's face was only about half relief she'd gotten through her speech without falling flat on her face. This was still a little scary but it was also a huge accomplishment.

Dante whistled really hard when she got on stage and gave her a rousing applause.

After she left the stage, he got up out of his seat and snuck out.

When they called her name, after a moment of stupid hope, Jalian got up and marched to the stage, then held out her hand. "I will give it to her."

She would. Nothing else would be acceptable.

Hardison applauded, both for the school for presenting the diploma for Raven and for Jalian's resolution to give it to her.

Four took his diploma with a polite smile and held it up. This was much less bloody than the ceremony at home!

Edward was beaming a smile that was absolutely writ large as he accepted his diploma, and offered a whole string of pleased acceptances.

He held his diploma up for a moment or two, basking in it - then scarpered off.

Cassandra did not whoop or anything of the sort, but she was clapping very loudly with an enormous smile on her face when Garik hit the stage.

Anders almost expected Kathy to run in the door when her name was called. When she didn't, he waited a moment before going up to accept the diploma on her behalf. She'd suggested it the last time he saw her, and he couldn't let her diploma go unclaimed.

It wasn't hard to see the tears in his eyes as he crossed the stage on her behalf.

Ezra was smiling.

From afar, it looked convincing and perfectly normal. Up close... strained was not a word that would have been inappropriate. He hadn't been sleeping a whole ton. And he wasn't even sure why he was here right now at all. It wasn't as if he needed a high school diploma for anything.

He still held his up high before bowing.

Gwen actually smiled when she got hers, even though she'd planned on being serious and disaffected. She couldn't help it, she was glad to accomplish something finally.
