Face only acted like a slacker who was more concerned with napping than anything else, okay, he genuinely liked the naps, but still, so while it was unusual for him to be not only awake but actually working behind the desk it wasn't anything to be worried about.

Or was it?

~~Walked towards the DESK, wtf, fingers.~~ "Oh, do excuse me," Cassandra said, leaning over to peer at what he was doing. "I must have missed that."

Sadly she would not have gleaned much more than the fact he was filling out a form of some description, as both the form and his answers were in Aurebesh.

"It's a difficult skill to master," Face said airily. "Naturally it was no trouble for one as talented as myself."

"Naturally," Cassandra echoed. She shook her head. "What are you so pointedly not doing, Garik?"

"Just some paperwork." Face shrugged. "Nothing urgent, just figured I'd get it done while I was in a productive mood so I don't have to worry about it later."

"So you are in a productive mood," Cassandra said. She was unsure whether she should push-- and well aware of her ability to go charging into things, so she erred on the side of caution.

Or teasing. "I knew it."

It wasn't that Face was being deliberately evasive, just why risk bringing a good mood down when he didn't have to? "You caught me out," he said. "Trapped me in my web of lies."

"Whatever will I do with you now?" Cassandra mused.

Face grinned. "I can think of a few things."

Likelihood of those things happening, kind of low.

Cassandra let out a loud sigh. "That week was not a template for every one of your library shifts," she said.

"Can't blame a guy for hoping."

Because that week had been astral.

Cassandra had not spent nearly as much time in training that week as she should have. Cough.

"Ugh," she said succinctly. "You could at least maintain productivity until the end of your shift."

At which point she might be inclined to go there.

"I can be productive and talk to you." Not really, but he could at least fake it.

"You will get distracted teasing me," Cassandra pointed out. "We've met."

"We have? And here I thought you were an attractive stranger." Yes, prove her point for her, Face, good job.

"This is what I mean," Cassandra sighed. "It is charming, but stupid."

Face looked abashed, really he did. "Here I was aiming for clever and charming."

"Of course you were," Cassandra said dryly.

She leaned over the counter to give him a quick kiss.

This was not mixed messaging at all.

Face somehow kept himself from pointing this out, probably because then he'd miss out on kisses.

Possibly if at some point Cassandra stopped doing this, he would also stop the teasing she always objected to.

She lingered longer than she had planned, then pulled back and cleared her throat. "... As I was saying..."

"I'm handsome and charming and you're brave and beautiful?"

He was so smooth.

Cassandra sighed. "Garik," she said pointedly, "How has your day been?"

Face shrugged. "Good," he said. "Better now you're here, of course."

"Of course," Cassandra said lightly. "Flatterer."

"Just because it's flattery doesn't make it untrue."

"It also does not make it true," she said, shaking her head. "...Garik, what sort of paperwork is it?"

She'd held off this long, but alas.
