The Tick was standing at the podium at the front of the room and Lockheed was on his normal bookshelf, as usual.

"Good morning, students! Welcome back from break! I hope you all had a good one! And congratulations to anyone who did well in the animal balancing contest last night. Just be glad there wasn't a moose."

"Okay, today, we're talking about superheroes. A superhero is, essentially, a vigilante with a flashier style and usually a moral center more in line with that of the rest of society. If you excuse the whole blatantly taking the law into their own hands thing, at least."

"However, the fact that superheroes seem to follow most of societies guidelines (don't kill, don't steal, try not to be a massive jerk) combined with the fact that in today's society, they usually disguise their identity, all while taking the law into their own hands means that some people," with that, Rory began to pass out a printed out editorial from The Daily Bugle that basically said that superheroes were the worst thing ever, "think of them as subversive. They're trying to wheel and deal their way into the hearts of society while doing whatever they please."

"Please remember that in this class, I am a teacher first and a superhero second. You can speak freely. With that in mind, today's question is, in general, what do you think of superheroes? Good people? Menaces? Misguided fools? Fashion disasters? Have you ever met a superhero outside of Fandom? What, in short, is the deal?"

"This week's metaphor is clowns. And your Extra Credit for this week is to give someone else in the room a superhero name. Just remember, The Tick and The Caffeinator are already taken."

Seeing his look, Parker said, "Hey, it's important. If they look stupid, they get arrested more often. And that might be the biggest difference in the public eye between a superhero and a vigilante. Especially reading articles like that." She pointe toward the Daily Bugle.

"Yeah, of course. Can't have superheroes run around being badly colour coordinated," he was possibly humouring her, but he did frown as he considered Tick's costume.

Parker cocked an eye at the same outfit, still smiling. "If people look crazy and dangerous, they get classified as crazy and dangerous. If they look responsible, upright, and like they know what they're doing, they're allowed to work. Police uniforms, emergency medical assistance uniforms, firemen-- they're all instantly recognizable, people give them respect and get out of their way. The same is true of superheroes. Except, of course, for the really, really lame ones." Then she added hastily, "And Professor Tick? I really think blue is a good color on you."

"And chicks love uniforms," he nods.

Parker gave him a look, then grinned. "Are you suggesting that people become superheroes in order to pull in the opposite sex?"

"Noooo," he said slowly, then grinned. "But it's an added perk?"

"I wouldn't know," Parker said, very prim. "Why don't you ask the Professor?"

Cameron stared at Tick. "I think I'll pass, but you know I'm right."

"Considering the ~~two~~ only superhero I know doesn't seem to date, and I've heard that Elasti-Girl and Mr. Incredible are secretly married, I'd guess you were wrong. But maybe American Maid has a harem of guys. Or something."

"So we've had the freaky superheroes to come to Fandom. Wanna bet that it does work? If you find a tasteful uniform, and I repeat the word tasteful, I'll wear it and you girls can decide if it's appealing or not." Cameron is dumb. Really really dumb.

"Tasteful. Tasteful?" The gleam in Parker's eyes is pure delight. "Ohhh, yes! Ladies! Cam-Boy will be wearing spandex before the end of next week! I just want you as witnesses!"

"As long as it's tasteful spandex," Cameron wonders if there is such a thing.

The Tick would ask if Cameron thought his spandex was in bad taste if he knew what Cameron was thinking.

"Thank you, Parker!"

"You're welcome, sir." Parker grinned. She would never, ever ask about those antennae, though.
