She looked from the chocolate to the coffee to Parker.

"Oh, really?" she asked, trying very hard not to smirk.

Parker covered her face, and let her head thunk on the library counter. "Ow." Then she muttered, "Yesterday. I should give Jaye the same for not putting it on the radio last night."

"No, not really." Parker looked from the headdesking to mutter, "I freaked out and ran away. I have to call and apologize tonight."

Parker grinned, slightly cheered. "Really?" She rolled her eyes. "Wish I had that excuse. The problem is Jarod was my first kiss. So he won't buy that one."

"Hmmm." As plans went, it was pretty threadbare, but it had a lot more appeal than saying, Sorry I kissed you and mauled you and freaked out. I swear it won't happen again. As long as you stop smirking at me. She rubbed her eyes. "Okay. Call that Plan A. Maybe he'll think he hallucinated me making a complete idiot out of myself." She brightened. "Or maybe he'll be obnoxious enough that I'll have an excuse to just not talk about it. That could happen. That could totally happen."
