Parker is hungover, unhappy, and really not glad to be back from break.

The Library is open.

Do not taunt the Library aide. This morning, she bites.

Blair grinned and whispered. "I just need to know where the history section is, then you can go back to sleep. Or if you've got any ideas about a significant moment in US history...that would help too."

He leaned closer and grinned. "Broots told me that you got him a present. That's so cool. He was way happy yesterday with his birthday and everything!" He maybe have stopped whispering by then.

Parker pointed to the stacks beyond the study pit, and muttered, "Left-hand side. And, Brown v. the Board of Education." She closed her eyes again, then opened them to glare a bit. "Well, yes. He was an employee at the Centre, of course I knew his birthday." She didn't lift her head from the counter, just kept it pillowed on her arms, then yawned.

"Cool, thanks." Blair grinned and bounced. "Just because you knew it was his birthday, didn't mean that you had to get him a present. That was really sweet of you!"

"Sweet?" Parker looked actively revolted. She lifted her head to glare at Sandburg. "It was not *sweet*. I don't do *sweet*. Broots knows that, what the hell? That's just common ... something, I don't know what, but it's not sweet!"

"Broots didn't call it sweet." Blair shook his head and grinned. "I did! It was sweet! You're a big softy."

Parker leaned over the library desk, bearing an uncanny resemblance to the evil fairy godmother in Sleeping Beauty as her eyes narrowed. "You could die today, Sandburg. You want me to make you more aware of your mortality than you already are?"

Blair leaned back for a moment and then headed towards the history section, calling out behind him. "You can't fool me, Parker! Softy!"
