Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
Picnic-ing in January - still not the best idea ever! But there were tables and chairs set up in the sun, and a nice bonfire going, and plenty of warm food for everyone to encourage socializing for as long as possible.
[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
Lucille could at least offer an attempt at conversation, even with a blue girl with scaly hands. Thomas would think she was joking when she wrote to him about this.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
"It's definitely non-traditional," Raven said. "But it's been very good to me. If you're hoping to learn a lot about, like, math, you might be disappointed."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
If she would close her eyes - which obviously she didn't - Lucille suspected that she wouldn't actually mind Raven so much. The scaly, blue skin was a pity. Perhaps it was an affliction of some kind?
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
"All sorts of things," Raven assured her. "History, world cultures, self-defense. . . . I think it's mostly up to the teachers themselves. They're like us students, come from all over time and space."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
so as to not joss the thread with the big sib."How... interesting." Raven's description made little sense. "And is there perhaps a library? And a music room?" If so, she would be able to keep herself busy.

Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
Did blue girls who sounded like they had had a proper upbringing been taught to play the piano?
[In my head I had replied to this...]
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
"Not well," Raven said cheerfully. "My foster mom tried to make me take lessons once, because 'a proper society lady should have hobbies', but I scared the teacher away and she stopped trying."
The two weren't entirely connected. Charles made his mom forget Raven had scared the teacher off, and Mrs. Xavier managed to forget the whole idea of piano lessons completely. She also often managed to forget Raven, so it wasn't surprising.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
"I assume you have other pastimes, then," she said. "I will look for the library, though, and see what the collection is like."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
He wasn't blue, but his dialog could be.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2016]
Despite her unfortunate disfiguring illness, Raven did seem like a nice, well-mannered girl, and one useful to know, so Lucille decided she could overlook the blue skin.

She wasn't going to ask how that was possible, at least not today.
