When the portal had opened up on the way to Zhahar's work, the sisters hadn't even paused to discuss it. Zhahar was diving through as Zeela and Sholeh cheered inside her head, Zeela effortlessly taking the body as they rolled out onto the warm expanse of Fandom lawn. As soon as she ascertained that there was no danger (always a possibility with Fandom), she'd given the body to Sholeh who was practically vibrating with excitement. There was really only one place for Sholeh to go. The library had been her favorite place in Fandom, even more 'hers' than their dorm room had been. It just felt right to head back there.

And when the books clustered around her and greeted her like an old friend, she knew she'd made the right choice.

Oh, it felt so lovely to be back!

"I know a little bit about it," Sholeh admitted. "We don't celebrate Halloween where we're from, but I learned about it while I went to school here. What do you need to know?"

And whatever she didn't know that Alluka asked about, she could probably find it in a book! Huzzah, books!

Alluka looked at Sholeh with huge, plaintive eyes. After a moment, so did her stuffed bunny.

"I don't know what to dress up as," she hopefully. "So, so I need help."

Oooh, double big-eyes! Sholeh was in trouble!

"You don't?" she asked. "That's a very important decision to make, too. We should give it a bit of thought. First, let me ask. Do you have too many ideas, and aren't sure what to choose? Or no ideas at all? Or something else?"

Fear the stuffed rabbit!

"I never thought about it before," Alluka admitted, "and when I did, I thought maybe being a princess, but Elsa's a real princess and so I wasn't sure if that was allowed. So, so I'm okay with being anything, but I don't know what to be?"

Sholeh would have been much more shaken to learn that she'd been chatting with a princess if one of her very first friends hadn't been a prince.

"Well, that's the wonderful about Halloween," Sholeh said. "It's the day when Elsa doesn't have to be a princess and everyone else can be one! But, just to be safe, you could maybe be a different kind of princess than Elsa is? Like maybe a fairy princess?"

"I could be a fairy?!" Alluka was definitely interested in that. "I could have wings and everything?"

"Well, we could make you wings, anyway," Sholeh said. "You can make very pretty wings with a few wire hangars, some white tights, and glitter paint!"

The glitter paint was very important.

"And if you get fake flowers, you can weave yourself a flower crown, too!"

If Alluka's eyes got any bigger, they were going to fall out of her head.

"I can make all of that?! I never knew that!"

But she was SUPER EXCITED about it!

"Oh yes!" Sholeh said, nodding. "You can make all sorts of things if you know how. Or if someone is willing to show you how. You see..." She reached under the circulation desk for a piece of paper and a pencil and quickly made a rough sketch of what she meant. "You can twist the wire into the proper shape and then put the nylon over that and decorate it till it looks as beautiful as you want. Get four hangars and suddenly, you have perfectly lovely fairy wings (http://cdn.instructables.com/FG2/MTXN/F7DWM5TM/FG2MTXNF7DWM5TM.LARGE.jpg)!"

"Ooooooooooooooh!" Alluka was enthralled by this idea. "I bet Mabel would know where to find everything to do this and then we could have wings all the time!"

A beat.

She beamed up at Sholeh. "What colour would yours be?"

They could have wings for every occasion! Like...Wednesday! Or breakfast!

"Green," Sholeh said immediately. "It's my favorite color. My sister Zeela's would be purple, and my sister Zhahar's would be yellow. How about you?"

"Pink," Alluka said promptly. "Because it's my favourite colour. But you and your sisters would look super pretty too."

Wings for breakfast would be the BEST.

"Pink is an excellent color," Sholeh said, standing up so Alluka could see her dress (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zJI0pYIRw3Y/TZeNcljq5YI/AAAAAAAABqg/u8vhR4yMcEU/s1600/mariaRosesStair.jpg). "My sister Zeela says redheads shouldn't wear pink, but I like it."

"But it's so pretty on you," she said, leaning forward to look at the dress. "You should wear it all the time!"

Alluka would tell anyone to wear pink all the time, mind you.

"Are you a princess?"

"Oh, goodness no," Sholeh said quickly. "I'm no one important at all! This is just how I dress. And I do wear this one more than most of my other dresses. There's only a blue one that I like more." She gave Alluka a soft smile. "I'm glad you think it's pretty. I quite like your dress, too!"

Alluka did a little spin, and beamed at Sholeh.

"Thank you!" It was pink and ruffly and she was rather fond of it. "But, but I'm sure you're important. Because you're so nice."

That...wasn't generally how it worked in the real world Alluka. Important people generally didn't have to be nice.

"Thank you!" Sholeh said, genuinely touched. "But I'm just nice because I like to be, not because I'm important. Are all the nice people you know important?"

Alluka's world was most definitely not the real world. And, in some ways, it was better for that.

"Well," she said simply, "they're important to me."

Which was close enough!

"That's what matters most of all," Sholeh said. "I have a feeling I'll only be around for the weekend, but if you need any more help with your fairy wings or learning how to make a flower crown, I'll be happy to show you how."

Alluka beamed up at her.

"I'll remember," she promised. "Can, can I go look at princess books now?"

"Of course!" Sholeh said. "And if you run out, let me know? I'm sure I can dig up a few more for you to look through. Have fun!"
