Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Everyone might have been getting ready for the fall semester, but it was definitely still summertime in Fandom. The temperature was high, the wind was low, and it was only going to get hotter once everyone arrived.

There were chairs and tables set out around the lawn, some in shady spots and some out in the sun, and there was a long table of moddable food culminating in a table full of ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sorbet choices. There were also stacks of nametags for people to label themselves with, and lists to help folks find their siblings and roommates. With everything in order, it was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Dunno. She has turned into a bird for a week, though, so she's got a feel for the place."

"That'll help." Parker hummed. "I think I'd like to be a bird. More than I'd like to think I was somebody else, anyway. Or maybe a lizard."

"The kind that can scale walls," Eliot said, smiling. "I'm pretty sure I'd rather not turn into an animal at all."

And with that he guaranteed he someday would.

"If you turned into a dog you could hang out with Megabyte and talk to each other," Parker pointed out, mostly joking. Mostly. Sort of? Yeah. "And yeah, the kind that can hang upside down on a wall and watch things, then go sideways. That would be awesome." She looked around, hoping to see someone with their brain getting broken by Pinkie.

"And then you two will end up feeding us both the wrong thing," Eliot said. "Though I suppose I'd definitely get out of cleaning the mess up."

Parker snickered and slyly started reaching for his sorbet again, looking hopeful. "We could get another dog sometime. To keep Val company." See, she was using her correct name!

"If another one wanders into Luke's, isn't a student, and doesn't have an owner missin' her," Eliot said. "I didn't exactly go out lookin' for Val."

Right. Parker was plotting now. Expect visiting animals, Eliot.

"You're going to steal unadopted dogs from the shelter and set them loose in Luke's, aren't you."

"Parker, if you want to adopt a dog, you can adopt a dog."

Parker stopped. "Really?" She paused, uncertain. "...what about a bunny?" And then, "You think Hardison would be okay with that?"

"You'll have to ask him first, but I think he'll be okay with anything that makes you happy." A beat. "That he's not allergic to."
