Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Everyone might have been getting ready for the fall semester, but it was definitely still summertime in Fandom. The temperature was high, the wind was low, and it was only going to get hotter once everyone arrived.

There were chairs and tables set out around the lawn, some in shady spots and some out in the sun, and there was a long table of moddable food culminating in a table full of ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sorbet choices. There were also stacks of nametags for people to label themselves with, and lists to help folks find their siblings and roommates. With everything in order, it was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Didi," Eliot greeted, with a tiny bit more familiarity than their previous interactions on island might have warranted. Not that he understood why, but he rather instinctively liked her. "Nice to see you joinin' up."

"They were looking for people and I couldn't resist," Didi told him, equally warmly. "I'm pretty happy about it. Hardison already told me about the Danger Shop."

"That thing's probably Hardison's favorite thing on the island." Eliot and Parker excepted. "You won't find anyone better to help you figure out the programmin'."

"Which is good, 'cause I don't know anything about programming," DIdi told him. "I got a phone, but I don't use it for anything but checking the weather and playing Angry Birds."

"When I have to," Didi said. "I'm not really the phone call type, though. Are you?"

"I prefer face to face," Eliot admitted. "But when you've got contacts globally, that's always possible."

"I've been lucky," Didi said. "Usually I can get to whoever I need to talk to."
