Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Everyone might have been getting ready for the fall semester, but it was definitely still summertime in Fandom. The temperature was high, the wind was low, and it was only going to get hotter once everyone arrived.

There were chairs and tables set out around the lawn, some in shady spots and some out in the sun, and there was a long table of moddable food culminating in a table full of ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sorbet choices. There were also stacks of nametags for people to label themselves with, and lists to help folks find their siblings and roommates. With everything in order, it was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Yeah, I know." She had heard this before. It did ease the pain of having limited fashion choices a little. "Now we know we won't be clothes-sharing roommates unless all your tops seriously shrink in the wash."

"I hope not." All her clothes were back in Antiva, still a limited wardrobe was a small price to pay. "I don't think they'd take as kindly to me running around without a shirt the way all those boys are."

"It might fail to charm the administration," April agreed, putting on her best serious face. "Not to mention the boys are already doing such good work out there."

Let's just say she liked the view.

"They do make things rather pretty," Isabela agreed, not even trying to hide the way she was looking at them.

"I spent the summer at a camp that was mostly for girls," April shared wryly without looking away from the latest shirtless boy to catch her eye. "Don't get me wrong, it was awesome! But still. I'm already liking this new school."

"I'm sure there were just as many pleasant views there as well," Isabela said. "Oooh, that one sparkles."

"Oh, you would have liked it," April assured her, grinning. "Hey, how about the scruffy one with the ponytail? Yowza."

It was starting to look like this roommate relationship was going to work!

At least until April found out that Isabela had never learnt about about the sock on doorknob rule.

"Oh there's potential there," Isabela agreed.

Eh, taking a 45-minute walk around the island at night every now and again never hurt anyone. Except sometimes, probably.

"So do you have any burning questions to make sure we're compatible as roommates?" she asked, tearing herself away from the sight of the pretty shirtlessness to look over at Isabela. "Just so you know, I'm pretty messy, but if it gets too gross, you can just remind me and I'll clean up. Oh, and it takes me forever to get ready in the mornings. I can pretty much do it in the dark, though."

This place had cute boys, a cool roommate, lots of free food and apparently, sometimes there were monsters and things to fight. Not a bad first day.
