Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could soak up that precious vitamin D, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool.

All of the tables had at least a little glitter on them though. It was a welcoming gesture to get glitter someplace you didn't know glitter could go!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Alluka considered that idea. It didn't sound very comfortable, really.

"... Pretty sneezes?" she tried.

"Well, probably," Ringo laughed, "but still sneezes. I don't know about you, but my head gets all spinny when I sneeze too much." And it took a lot for Ringo's head to get spinny.

"Spinny like if you go around and around in circles too much?" Alluka asked. "I've never sneezed like that before!"

But it sounded kind of fun?

"Like that, yeah." Well, at least that's how Ringo understood it. She actually didn't get dizzy from circular movement, but most people did, she thought.

"I don't recommend it," Ringo added. "It's not bad so much as... well, there are more fun things to do with your time than sneeze?"

"Like party!" Alluka cheered. "I've never been to one before but Edward said that everyone gets invited to him and isn't that the best?"

Ringo smiled. This other girl must be rather sheltered to have never been to a party before. "Parties are pretty fun," she agreed with a grin.

Oh! She blinked suddenly.

"Whoops. Sorry for being rude, but I'm Ringo Noyamano. It is very nice to meet you." She accompanied her words with a brief, polite bow.

Oh! Oh, she should do that too, right? Alluka's attempt at a bow was more of a happy flail/curtsy combo but that was good enough!

"I'm Alluka Zoldyck," she said happily. "I'm so happy to get to talk to everyone!"

Yes, she sounded very sheltered. "It's a lot of fun," Ringo agreed easily. "And the food isn't bad, either."

Sheltered was one word for it.

"Do you have a favourite food?" she asked. "Pinkie gave me an apple cupcake earlier and it was really good."

Ringo considered that. "I don't know that I do? I mean, I have lots of things that I like, but no one favorite thing." She cocked her head. "What about you?"

"I like cake best today!" she decided. "But tomorrow might be different."

It was fun to mix things up that way.

"Well," Ringo laughed, "I suppose there's no point in being too committed to a favorite when there are so many good things out there."

"And in that case, I suppose that for today, my favorite is probably chocolate covered strawberries."

"We could get some?" Alluka suggested hopefully. "Edward said sharing is important."

He hadn't said that, not exactly, but that was what Alluka had taken away from it. She could practice sharing with Ringo!

Another laugh. "Okay! I'm pretty sure there are some left on that table over there," she pointed. She looked over at Alluka with a grin. "Want to race?"

Were they allowed to do that? Oh, but it sounded so fun that she was just going to hope they wouldn't get in trouble for it.

"Yes!" Alluka said eagerly. "Yes, let's race!"

"Okay." Ringo was grinning as she reached up to adjust the straps of her backpack, making sure it was secure. "On three?"

"One. Two. Three!"

And then she was off!

It was entirely possible that Ringo was taking this race more seriously than Alluka was, since Alluka burst into giggles and flung herself after Ringo.

She wasn't nearly as fast as Ringo, but that wasn't the point. The point was fun.

Ringo was rather athletic, but more than that, she didn't really do things by half measures, so she tore off across the grass at top speed, and ultimately skidded to a stop just in front of the table.

She spun to watch Alluka come up after her, panting and laughing at the same time.

Alluka caught up, still giggling, but now panting and feeling tired too. It wasn't like she was used to running around.

"You won!" she said, once she'd caught up. "But we're still going to share, right?"

It was hard to pant and laugh at the same time, but now Ringo was doing even more of it. "Of course!" She shot Alluka a grin. "The race was just for fun! And now it's time for strawberries!" Covered in chocolate!

She was going to be so wired up on sugar at this rate.

"Do you think we can take all the strawberries?" she asked in a whisper that was rather marred by how she was still trying to get her breath back.

Ringo studied the spread on the table, then giggled. "I think there might be a few too many for that to be a good idea," she whispered back in the same strained manner.

That only got more giggling out of Alluka.

"We could do more than one trip," she suggested.

Those giggles escalated to outright laughter. "But," Ringo objected, trying to catch her breath, "where would we be keeping them all?"

"In our tummies!"

That was the only place for them!
