School Auditorium: MSND rehearsal (4-7 PM FHT)

There are snacks and assorted beverages on a table to the side, and the house lights are up.

The stage lighting is still a little beyond Rory, so the simple overhead fluorescents will have to do for the day.

And by the door, there's a sign-in sheet.

Actors? Your stage awaits.

"Okay, hi, I'm Rory for those of you who don't know me," she said, waving a little nervously. "I'm one of your student directors. If you have any questions about the play or how we're going to run this production, please direct them to me, Cordy, or Professor Dream. Mostly, we're looking to cover a lot of ground in this rehearsal since we only have a couple weeks until the play, and I expect everyone to pull together and do what we can to make this a functional production, okay? But most of all, we need to remember to have fun, right?"

"I think there's something wrong with my copy," Vala says, waving the script at Rory and frowning. "I can't find the Kickass Ninja at all!"

"So that's my part? To show up and be invisible?"

She tilts her head for a minute to think about it. "You know, that might not be the worst plan after all...."

Xander raised his script. "I like that. Can I understudy her? And then keel her so I get to take her role?"

"Er," Cordelia said nervously. "We haven't quite finalized exactly where the additional characters will be fitting in. This rehearsal will hopefully give us a clear idea of what to do. Sorry about that," she said quickly.

Vala looks less than impressed, but sits back, kicks her feet onto the seats ahead of her, and sits back to watch -- wishing she had some real, on-chicken-flavored popcorn to snack on while she watches everyone else suffer.

"If the person in the role is sick or anything, the understudy steps up," Rory said. "Like, for instance, since Anakin's not around for a little while, Lana is his understudy and she'll probably be asked if she wants to take over the role."

"You're not going to have to know." Parker cocked an eyebrow at her. "Since I plan on being here for the performance."

Yes, she'd wanted out of it. But not so someone else could be Titania!

"Is it a problem that I couldn't get rid of my accent if my life depended on it?" Pip asked. "I mean, Shakespeare's really famously British and when I talk I'm really obviously French."

"Nah, it's fine," Rory said with a reassuring smile. "Your accent adds something to the character, and I'm not going to make everyone speak in British accents, anyway."

Blair cleared his throat and tried not to sound squeaky. "Um, there's a lot of couples in this play. There's no kissing, right?"

*Hamlet, after having been unknowingly frozen in marble for a week and a half, is shocked to see the auditorium full of people with scripts. He sticks his head in to find out what's going on.*

Rehearsals are happening already? Has a cast listing for the play even been posted yet?
