"Good morning," Rita said, barely glancing up. "Today is a free study period. Your midterm is the Tuesday after next. I suggest you use this hour to go over your notes and ask any questions you may have."

John chirps in agreement. And then he looks pitiful and cuddles into Rory's hand and closes his Puffin eyes.

John just coos softly and flutters his wings and yawns and goes to sleep.

Rory set John on Rita's desk. "Lookit so cute!"

John yawns and lets out a deep breath and looks very, very cute. He curls up into a wee Puffin ball of feathers and continues sleeping.

John stretches his wings out behind and they flutter and oh, a feather comes loose.

Oh noes. But he's still sleeping.

Rita glared at the loose feather, but was so overwhelmed by the cute that she just ignored it.

John the Puffin goes to yawn and it's a soft coo and it makes his wee tiny legs shake and he sighs and sleeps again.

And then he wakes up and blearily peers up at Professor Skeeter.

John tries to flap his wings and fly but he's still tired and his wings are wee so he kind of flops across Professor Skeeter's desk and looks pitiful.

He chirps forlornly.

John chirps again and flutters his wings at her. He wants to either have big wings again or he wants to be a real boy.

He hopes Professor Skeeter understands.

Now, John just looks like a fruitcake. He peers up at Professor Skeeter and quirks a Puffin brow.

John hopes Rory's successful in finding his wings because a bird without wings is just kinda...dumb. He's just snail only with feathers and no slimey substances and no shell.

John says 'woe.' But it comes out as a damn chirp.

Damn bird!

Well, John still has feet so he proceeds to scratch at all the papers on Professor Skeeter's desk, putting hole and tears in them.

She waved her wand and changed him back.

John kneeling on top of Professor Skeeter's desk.

When he realizes he's him again, he smiles at Professor Skeeter. "You totally thought I was cute."
