Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were chairs and tables set up all across the lawn; some were by the bonfire, for the people who wanted to be warm and central to everything else at the picnic, and some were set farther away from the action, for the people who wanted more peace and quiet.

There was no escaping the glitter though. Sorry, but not really.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Hi!" Cecil plopped down not too far away. "You're cold too, huh?"

Foucault honked a hello.

"I'm not really used to being outside in the winter," Rapunzel admitted sheepishly, in an enormous understatement. Pascal scampered up out of her hair to peek suspiciously at Foucault, while Rapunzel herself offered him her hand to sniff.

Because she didn't know. Maybe giant birds were like dogs and liked that?

Well, Foucault would lean close enough to that hand to blink at it and determine there was no food before just settling down next to Cecil. And eyeing Pascal. Was Pascal food or friend?

"I still can't get used to winter," Cecil confessed. "But at least it's not raining or snowing or anything yet."

"Yet," Rapunzel agreed, ominously. (For a given, Rapunzel-influenced value of 'ominous,' anyway.) "You're from the desert, right? They don't have winter at all, or is it just, like, not snowy?"

"It gets a little colder?" Cecil shrugged. "Still more like Spring is here, though. Well, except mostly not wet. And I'd never seen snow until I came here! Well, not the water kind; just the radioactive or purple kind the government sends."

"Purple snow?" Rapunzel's eyes went wide. "We have snow in Corona, but I've never, you know, played in it or anything."

Which was maybe a plus side to this whole winter thing.

"I got to play with snow a little bit!" Cecil grinned. "In Skyrim. Elsa made just a little, and we built snowmen on the windowsill. It was really cold!"

"Elsa showed you that?" Rapunzel asked, dropping her voice. "That's -- isn't it neat, how she can make snow?"

"It really is!" Cecil said enthusiastically. "I'd never played in snow before."
