Rory cleared her throat. "Um, just some of them. Of the, um, minstrel in blue tights, if you've got them. Bonus points if they have a dancing Christmas tree in them too. I just realized I don't have any, you know/"
"Ohhh." Parker smiled gently. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure I got a few of those. I know there's one of the jazz-handing zombies, and I'm pretty sure I got one of you, Logan, and said minstrel in the green room. I can get them to you after Tactics?"
"Thanks," Rory said gratefully. "I just realized I only have the one I drew when I thought I was three, and tights or no, a picture'd be nice." She sighed, shaking her head. "When he comes back? I'm hiring someone to follow us around with a camera to ensure I'm photographically supplied."
"Definitely." Parker cocked her head. "Damn. I should've taken my camera out to the cove a few weeks ago. I could've shown you pictures of the seals that are out there, too. I really need to take more pictures than just the ones of people embarassing themselves around here."
"Jarod told me about the seals," Rory said with a soft smile. "And yeah, I need to use my cameraphone for more than just taking pictures of John as an animal."
"Yeah." Parker ducked her head. "It was fun. Lousy weather, but fun. I wish--" She cut herself off, then, in a slightly less natural voice, said, "So, England?"
Parker kept her voice low, and didn't look at Rory. "I wish Jarod could go too. He's never been anywhere but Blue Cove and here." She shrugged. "But it would be a bad idea, even if he were a student. Too easy to find him, if he got a passport."
"Postcards. I always send him a few." Parker looked around, then rolled her eyes. "And you know that bet we've got going? What are the terms for me losing? Exactly?"
"Let's just say that any other guy would've made a move by now and leave it at that, shall we?" Parker rubbed her temples and sighed. "And I can't know anything for sure, no. But I won't risk losing his friendship over this, this stupid feeling."
"Jarod's not like other guys," Rory pointed out helpfully. "He could be feeling the same way. Just saying. Been there a couple times. Once where I made the first move, and once when he did. You know a bit more about the latter." She smiled a little. "But don't do anything you're not ready for, I guess."
Parker relaxed, and smiled more genuinely. "Yeah, exactly. And if I can't--" get over it, past it, whatever-- "--figure it out, I'll deal with it then. I'm enjoying my space in avoidance. The landscape is pretty here. People seem nice. I don't havea good reason to leave."
