"Postcards. I always send him a few." Parker looked around, then rolled her eyes. "And you know that bet we've got going? What are the terms for me losing? Exactly?"
"Let's just say that any other guy would've made a move by now and leave it at that, shall we?" Parker rubbed her temples and sighed. "And I can't know anything for sure, no. But I won't risk losing his friendship over this, this stupid feeling."
"Jarod's not like other guys," Rory pointed out helpfully. "He could be feeling the same way. Just saying. Been there a couple times. Once where I made the first move, and once when he did. You know a bit more about the latter." She smiled a little. "But don't do anything you're not ready for, I guess."
Parker relaxed, and smiled more genuinely. "Yeah, exactly. And if I can't--" get over it, past it, whatever-- "--figure it out, I'll deal with it then. I'm enjoying my space in avoidance. The landscape is pretty here. People seem nice. I don't havea good reason to leave."
