Shop Class: [2/27] - Danger Shop Craziness

As the students enter the shop room, Mac greets them with a smile.

After everyone arrives and signs-in, Mac makes some adjustments to the remote control and the room turns into a metal scrapyard.

"Hey everyone. Welcome to Shop Class. Today we'll be doing another one of our Junkyard creativity excercises..."

*SLAM* *CLUNK*

Mac looks over at the doors to the shop class which have closed and locked on their own. "Hal? Could you open please?"

"I'm sorry Mac," said a monotone voice. "I'm afraid I can't do that. Apparently someone is very upset at you."

Five robots shimmer into existence around the group of students.

"Okay. This is not good," Mac muttered to himself. "Kids! Run for it! Get into the supply room! There's no holoprojectors there!"

Sam signed in. "Mac, I invited Janet Fraiser to join us, if you don't mind. She's been listening to me talk about class and wanted to check it out."

"And, er, nice tail. Very fluffy."

"Hey, Sam," said Janet, showing up ~~amazingly coincidentally~~ right about then. "How's it going?"

"So far, so good," she shrugged. "Do you know Professor MacGyver?"

"I met him at Thanksgiving," said Janet.

Sam blushed. "Right. Sorry, I forgot." Okay, maybe still a little awkwardness there.

Janet gave Sam a confused look. "Normally you don't blush when you mention the Shop teacher," she said quietly.

Okay, maybe she was snickering a bit.

"Tell you later," Sam said, under her breath.

"This is going to be good, isn't it?" Janet grinned. "I'll lay in the chocolate."

"I'd tell you to bring wine, but I've sworn off drinking for a bit."

Janet's eyes widened. "I can't wait to hear this," she said. "What if I bring amaretto truffles? Would that count as drinking if you're eating them?"

Sam pondered this. "Probably? But if I'm only with you and they're covered in chocolate, I think you should be safe."

"What, did you show up to class drunk one day?" asked Janet.

"Dance. Friday. Spiked punch. Leather pants." Sam cringed. "It was bad."

Janet's eyes widened. "It sounds horrible," she said, regretting she hadn't been there with a camera or a video recorder. "You're right. We need chocolate and I'll sympathize with you the whole time."

Pippi waved to Janet.

"Hey, Pippi," said Janet. "Are you in this class, or just visiting for the day like me?"

"Just visiting! Just like in Monopoly!"

"Except without Blair to stage a sit-in at the jail," said Janet, grinning. "Though I see Nadia's here for the jailbreak."

"Yeah! She's the one invited me."

"Sam invited me," said Janet. "I might sign up for the class next fall, and she thought I might want to see what it's like first."

"That's just what I was thinking."

"I'm not particularly mechanically inclined, however," said Janet. "Not nearly as much as Sam, anyway."

"That's what classes are for! ... Or so I'm told."

"You've never seen me try to hang a picture up," said Janet. "I'm hopeless. I just call Sam and bribe her with chocolate every time I need mechanical repairs done."

"Well, it never hurts to try new things!" said Pippi.
