Walter came in, not in a good mood at all. and scowled at the spaghetti on the menu.

That was not a good joke, dammit. Not even a little.

However, he had a takeaway box from Cafe Fina and didn't have to take anything the Chef was offering, so he settled for a glass of water and some utensils before sitting down next to Victor, who appeared to have a good brood going on.

"Hey," Victor said, brightening a little. "How are you?"

"Shooting spaghetti from my fingertips, apparently," Walter said with a grimace.

He opened the box from Cafe Fina and began picking the grilled chicken out of the caesar salad inside.

"And I'd be lying if I said it wasn't winding me up."

Victor simply shook his head and sighed. "Fandom strikes again. Show me what you're talking about."

Walter sighed and took the rings off of one hand. "It started last night." He flicked his fingers the way he would to use his wires and streams of spaghetti flew out of his fingertips.

He obviously didn't have much control over the spaghetti, as it splattered against the window and started to slide to the floor in a sticky, pasta-y mess.

"See?" he asked as put his rings back on before he got up to clean up after himself.

Victor tried to hold back a giggle, and did a pretty good job of it. "Wow, that sucks. Well, at least you'll never go hungry. Does the other hand spray spaghetti sauce?"

"You wouldn't think it was funny if you'd seen what happened to the can of spray starch I was trying to grab with my wires when this all started." Walter scowled at his traitor hands. "The spaghetti completely mucks up my control."

"I'm sorry, hon," Victor replied, sobering and rubbing Walter's shoulder. "Maybe this'll be like what happened to Anders and Cally, and will go away in a day or two. Until then, maybe you should stay over at my room. That way you don't have to worry about any high shelves or anything."

"Thanks." Walter went back to stabbing his salad like it was responsible for his spaghetti problems. "From what I heard on the radio, I'm not the only one with odd things going on, but it's hard to tell from what Lilly was saying. Do you know anything?"

"I heard the radio, too. I just figured that it was the usual stuff that goes on around here." He took a sip of Green Apple Jones Soda, then gave his boyfriend a lopsided smile. "But hey, it could be worse. You could be barking like a dog or something."

"Yes, it is fine as long as I do not try to do something that is second nature to me." Walter grumbled and stabbed some more chicken.

"You are right. It could be worse. And I have a pair of wire gloves I can try. How are you? You were not looking happy when I got here."

After looking to make sure they weren't being watched ~~much~~, Victor leaned over and gave Walter a kiss on the cheek. "It'll be alright, okay? I'll help you any way I can. All you have to do is ask."

He returned to his lunch, taking a bit of steak and figuring out how he was going to answer Walter's question. Finally, he said, "I don't think I'm busy enough. I think I need to get out and meet more people around here."

Walter felt his cheek heat where Victor's lips had touched, but he managed to avoid a full-blown blush.

"I think it is a very good idea for you to get out and meet more people. I have not met a boring person here yet. Do you have any thoughts on how you want to do that?"

"Well, I was thinking about roaming the halls a little today. Just seeing who's around and what's going on. Maybe even break out my camcorder a little."

"With this place, you are going to see something interesting doing that." Walter shook his head and smiled. With Fandom, there was always something interesting.

"I need to find some magically inclined person who might be able to tell me why I have turned into Spaghetti Boy. If you find someone who could help, ask for me, if you would."

"Of course." He tilted the bottle osoda toward Walter a little. "You wanna try some of this stuff? It's a little bit like that cordial stuff we had a couple of nights ago."

Walter took a sip and made a face. It wasn't because it was bad, just because it wasn't exactly what he'd been expecting. "Not bad. It does not taste like it has done anything more than had a green apple described to it, but it is not bad."

"Yeah, it's a little sour, but I like the brand. I'm glad they sell it here."

He took the bottle from Walter and took another sip. "I'm so glad it's Friday. I wish it was warmer out, though. I want to get some fresh air this weekend.

"Do you get cold easily?" Walter felt bad that he'd never really thought to ask. Maybe it was a mutant thing or a Victor thing or some other thing he hadn't thought of.

"Because it's not too bad. Especially if we did something to get our blood moving. I have a frisbee for Pup, we could take him down to the park sometime this weekend and play.

"Nah, but it's supposed to be about 50 degrees out this weekend and really windy, so it'll be even colder. I wonder if we can take Pup to the gym, though. it'll be really warm there, and we can play on the ~~pyramid~~ basketball court."

"Sort of like picnicking under the stars?" Walter asked with a sly grin. "I wasn't complaining about that, I'm sure the gym will be fine as well. And swimming is fun, although not for Pup."

"Can hellpuppies even stand water? Or is it just because Pup can't swim?"

"Better safe than sorry. Vampires in my world can't be submerged. Rain isn't a problem, so it isn't being wet. It's something about being completely underwater that is the problem."

He frowned, thinking. "It might even have to be ocean water, I'm not sure, but it's best to be prudent. I don't want to have to explain that I let Pup melt."

"Yeah, don't let him melt. That'd suck. We should probably just stick to frisbee."

"I am at your service. Maybe we could find some people to join us to play. It's a nice change from going down to the gym to run in circles or use the exercise equipment."
