Try Not to Die [Thursday, May 8, 2014]
Anakin met the class out in front of the Portalocity office with a cup of coffee and a slightly evil smile on his face.
You should have a bad feeling about that smile, class.
"Welcome to Try Not to Die," he said. "I'm Master Skywalker. This year, instead of exploring this planet, you will be exploring places in my own galaxy."
You lucky, lucky things. "Our first stop is the capital planet of Coruscant," he said. "While it's not the physical center of the galaxy, in every way that counts, it is. Space coordinates have even been shifted so that Coruscant is 0,0,0 and al other areas are based off of it. It has standard air and gravity, and it is home to 1 trillion official permanent members, with various beings coming and going constantly, as well as members of populations who don't especially wished to be counted, so the unofficial number of residents is probably closer to 3 trillion. It is the home to the Jedi Temple--at least in my time, that changes depending on the person from my galaxy you're talking to--the Senate and most major government offices. It is also almost entirely covered in buildings: Coruscant is divided into quadrants and zones, and then each zone has sectors depending on how high into the air it is. The further down you go, the less light you get and the shadier--literally and figuratively--the neighborhood becomes."
Anakin gave them all long looks. "Do not go into the lower levels. There are places that even I couldn't find you in." He pointed to Jessica. "This is Jessica Drew, the TA for the session. She also won't save you if you do something stupid." He slid his hands into the sleeves of his Jedi robes and nodded, satisfied that they understood his degree of seriousness. "I'm going to send you into the more populated, tourist-friendly areas. Follow the instructions, don't get hurt, and I'll see you at the checkpoint at the end."
With that, he stepped out of the way of the portal.

Check in
His hood was up, just in case, and he was enjoying being back home for the first time in years, even if it wasn't exactly his home these days.
Re: Check in
"Well," she said, "that was about what I expected, really."
Which was both terrible and nice. Her feelings were pretty conflicted on this.

Because no.
"And I'm against eating slugs in general."
Because ewwww.

If Anakin was listening closely he could hear some choice words about a certain Toydarian.

Whump, he went.
He stepped out of the pile, pulling cloth away from his head, and stared at Anakin. "What?"

"Guess I spent too long fixing things," she said ruefully. She looked sweaty but ultimately pleased with herself.

"This class," she said to Anakin, "Actually makes sense."
Okay, so she'd probably never be here, but these were useful things.
She'd was going to do very well in this class.
