Library, Tuesday
Look, there was library weirdness, and then there was... whatever the hell was happening in the library today.
Not only were entire collections appearing and disappearing, sometimes in completely different languages, but there was a freaking dinosaur (a microraptor, to be exact) perched atop one of the shelves of arts and crafts books, chewing on a book of knitting patterns.
William's first idea had been to chase it into Special Collections, but that plan failed when he was unable to open the door to that section of the library. That didn't bode well at all, he mused, considering that typically, library staff were notified of any sort of intentional lockdown.
Well, he was just going to ignore the dinosaur for now, at least, as long as it was chewing on books, not people, and mark down that they needed to order a replacement copy of that particular book once all this was said and done.

Re: Excursion!
All the more important when there were great beasts and hairy warriors, and some strange mix between the two that claimed to be trolls out there.
Elsa knew trolls when she saw them, thank you. She wasn't going to buy that one.

Re: Excursion!
It's as if you thought she couldn't handle a few dinosaurs.
"I promise," she replied, smiling faintly. "Should I make you do the same?"
Re: Excursion!
Besides, he couldn't handle a few dinosaurs...
Jeff thumped the lacrosse stick against his helmet. "I'm good," he lied. "I promise I'll be fine."
Re: Excursion!
Look, dinosaurs weren't really a thing that had been figured out in a proper scientific sense, back in Elsa's day.
Re: Excursion!
See how deftly he avoided the topic of whether he might get eaten? It was better not to think about it.
Re: Excursion!
"That long ago?" She looked suitably impressed. "How do people even put a timeframe on something like that? I can wrap my head around centuries, barely, but millions of years?"
Straying a little from the original point, there, Elsa.
"I noticed on the way here that some barely seem interested in us at all. Mostly the ones on four feet, instead of two..."
Re: Excursion!
He shrugged. "I dunno exactly how they tell how old things are. Science! Something about how much radiation is in the carbon, the way the rock is layered, how deep they have to dig. It's all estimates, when you're dealing with something that crazy-old, but some people spend lifetimes studying old bones."
Re: Excursion!
The 'reindeer-lizard' concept made it difficult not to smile a little more.
"I... might have to learn more about them," she decided. "After the crisis has passed, of course."
