Library, Friday

From the way things had sounded on the radio, Billy had a feeling he'd have more visitors than usual today. So, he spent the early part of his shift making sure the library was in order, putting books back where they belonged and checking for anything strange - typically strange, not new!strange. He was kind of hoping there wouldn't be any of that today, but he also knew how far hope usually got people here.

Celia really couldn't believe how long it'd taken her to get here, all things considered. While she was drifting quietly in class this morning, the thought had suddenly occurred to her that she wasn't entirely helpless, that there was something she could do -- she could look for an answer.

And in a library this size? It had to be here somewhere.

So from late morning onwards, Celia was hunched over texts at a corner table. She only stopped at one point to re-secure her hair in its pink ribbon (which matched her rose-colored dress perfectly), but otherwise was engrossed in reading everything she could that might lead to an answer -- any answer.

"Well, don't you look adorable today!" Joker greeted her. "Any luck finding anything?"

"Nothing so far," Celia admitted, rubbing her eyes as she glanced up. And then her face dropped when she noticed his legs. "Oh, no. Not you, too?"

"Not me what?" Joker asked. He followed her gaze. "OH! Yeah. Me, too. Don't worry, I'm still me, all that's changed is the accoutrements. How about you?"

"I'm not me, apparently," she said, sighing. "At least, Will and Eleanor say so -- I mean, Eleanor before she...back when she was Eleanor. You know? But I can't tell I'm not the original me."

Joker gave her a pained look. Eleanor... yeah. He knew. So he just skipped past that part of the conversation.

"Don't look at it that way," he told Celia. "It'll just give you a headache. "You are the original you, you're just in a slightly different Fandom, that's all."
