Library, Sunday
All told, it had been a fairly good Christmas, if bittersweet. Sholeh had gone out of her way to make certain that Evan had something familiar and that he didn't spend it alone, and even if it wasn't quite like the Christmases he remembered, it had been spent cozily curled up in good company.
And New Year's? Well, that had never been quite so big a deal while he was growing up, so he was mostly just gearing himself up for writing a different number down on anything that needed him to mark the date. Well, and re-shelving any books that were returned so far over the break. And if most of those books happened to have been borrowed by him...
Well. Passing the time was important, right?

Re: Talk to Evan!
"Oh, hi!" she said, when she pulled a book off the shelf at the same time Evan did from the other side. "I thought I might find you here."
Re: Talk to Evan!
What were the odds?
Was Evan complaining?
"Are you doing my job for me today?"
Re: Talk to Evan!
"Only a little," Sholeh teased. "I brought some books to be returned to a very cute library aid, but there was no one at the counter. So I had to everything all by myself."
Re: Talk to Evan!
He would never forgive himself for the obvious strain that Sholeh had gone through to return her books.
Given the number of books she usually took out, that was a very legitimate concern.
Re: Talk to Evan!
"I hear the Sunday aide is pretty lazy," she informed him, shaking her head mournfully. "So even if he had been there, he probably would have made me shelve all the books by myself anyway."
Re: Talk to Evan!
Wait, weren't they all guilty of that?
Re: Talk to Evan!
"Probably pity," Sholeh sighed. "There's no way that a guy with that kind of work ethic could get another job anywhere."
Especially not at a local bookstore in town!

Why yes, his arm was stretched all the way along the shelf and around the other side. Why?

A few moments later, he was wrapping that one around her waist and smiling at her from her own little corner of the stacks.
"Would she?"

=I am going to gag.=
La la la, Sholeh was ignoring you, Zeela.
Re: Talk to Evan!
Tooth-rottingly sweet, even.
So, so tooth-rottingly sweet.
Re: Talk to Evan!
*Not that we're making any suggestions or anything.*
La la la, Sholeh was ignoring you, too, Zhahar.

Such cruelty.
Re: Talk to Evan!
Woe.
Re: Talk to Evan!
That was a very dire concern!

This was an argument she'd be content to have for the rest of the day. Even if her sisters would really rather they didn't.
