Library, Wednesday
Anyone expecting a quiet redhead behind the circulation was in for a rude surprise--emphasis on the rude. There was a lanky brunette behind the counter today, watchful and on edge. There was a knife strapped to her hip and a gun within easy reach under the desk.
Zee wasn't taking any chances with the creepy guys that were suddenly around the island today. She was going to be the sister in view for the rest of the week, their other classes and identities be damned. One surprise attack that had them appearing in one of those weird machines was more than enough, thanks.
Don't expect a lot of help from today's substitute library aide, unless you were planning a trip out to put the hurt on some of those tire-wearing freaks. Then Zee was all yours.

Re: Talk to Pandora
Maybe if he stammered some more, that would wake her up?
Re: Talk to Pandora
"I thought I told you people to not disturb me! I'm very busy with research and it's going slowly enough as it is with my concentration issues!"
Only Lilith batting her hand away kept her from terminating the call on the spot. "Look," Lilith tried, "I know you hate this, but there's been a Vāā"
"No!" Tannis declared, getting up. "My research comes first!"
And then she stalked off in a huff, leaving Lilith alone.
Re: Talk to Pandora
"Well, I guess you tried. We'll have to figure out what to do about the Vault on our own, huh?"
Re: Talk to Pandora
"No, she's the expert on this stuff, and she's gonna help you, okay?" she said. "I'm gonna ā- I'm going to persuade her. It might take a while but I'm going to do it."
Re: Talk to Pandora
... The fact that he was genuinely sincere about that probably kept it from seeming as though he was laying it on too thick, at least.
Re: Talk to Pandora
"Don't mention it. Name's Lilith, by the way. And we've got your back, kiddo."
Re: Talk to Pandora
Really, if he wasn't on the other side of a computer screen in another world, he probably would have gone in for a hug.
Re: Talk to Pandora
Even though it was going to take a lot of bickering with Tannis.
