Anyone expecting a quiet redhead behind the circulation was in for a rude surprise--emphasis on the rude. There was a lanky brunette behind the counter today, watchful and on edge. There was a knife strapped to her hip and a gun within easy reach under the desk.

Zee wasn't taking any chances with the creepy guys that were suddenly around the island today. She was going to be the sister in view for the rest of the week, their other classes and identities be damned. One surprise attack that had them appearing in one of those weird machines was more than enough, thanks.

Don't expect a lot of help from today's substitute library aide, unless you were planning a trip out to put the hurt on some of those tire-wearing freaks. Then Zee was all yours.

Look, there were tables, chairs, and a bunch of books. What more did you need? Get on that.

In case you had other things to do in here? Whatever. Zee doesn't judge.

Don't expect pleasant conversation, okay? Someone had attacked her baby sister. Stuff done got real.

Maybe he's in a better mood?

Evan, wanting to feel like he was actually accomplishing something more than just sitting around and fretting, had made his way in to the library today. He hadn't quite noticed which sister was in view over at the aide's desk yet- There was a lot of work to be done. But he'd definitely check up on Sholeh once he was caught up on what people knew so far.

The idea that there were things killing people out there hadn't even crossed his mind yet.

It's that place that's not here.

I'm writing this in the past, so I don't know if I'm in Florida yet. If so, carry on. If not, replies might be delayed.

After some heavy lifting late last night and a very sarcastic radio broadcast this morning where she tried not to give Hyperion any useful information, Jessica made her way over to the library to hit some books.

Metaphorically. Although she figured Fandom books could take a punch and probably give just as good as they got. But she digressed.

AHAHAHAHAHA - No. But Constantine might be willing to share his coffee, if you ask nicely.

Wait. Stop. Back up. Constantine stopped and peered at the strange girl behind the desk.

"You aren't Sho."

Gold star, John. Really.

Electroclash still had the from yesterday with her. And the computers were still there. So, re-connecting with Pandora was possible.

But her people skills were no better than they had been yesterday. So, she really needed someone else to do the talking.

And, well, Evan was there. So. "Hey, kid! You look like you could appeal to someone's protective instincts."

Well, there was an interesting conversation starter. Evan blinked up at Electroclash from the book in his hands, and then pointed at himself as if to say, 'me?'

"I suppose, if there are any protective instincts to appeal to. Um... Are there?"

They kind of seemed to be in short supply these days.

"'S what I'm hoping, anyway," Electroclash drawled. She held up the ECHO communicator. "We had a couple of lads try and use this to get a connection going to that Pandora place. They got through to this Dr. Tannis, or whatever the fuck her name was, and cocked it up so bad she hung up on them."

Or maybe she'd just been feeling really antisocial, and it hadn't mattered who'd said what. But this was Electroclash's story, and she was sticking to it.

"Someone not as inept as them should try."

"I... Oh." Evan blinked, trying to figure out just what someone would have to say, when asking for help, to tick someone off that badly.

He decided that maybe it would be for the best if he didn't think about it too hard.

"I could give it a try," he decided, looking at the communicator curiously. "Anything to help, you know? Is there anything I should know before I make the call, or do I just kind of, um... explain that we need some sort of help?"

Isabelle was not the greatest researcher the world have ever seen. She was far more likely to attack things head-on. And, maybe she'd even do that later today.

But she also knew the people who knew what the hell was going on usually resided in the library. So, she'd thought coming by and maybe picking up a book or something might help.

Elctroclash shrugged. "Well, the whole reason they were trying to contact her was that she's supposed to be some kind of a 'Vault expert'." There were finger quotes, oh yes. "So that might be worth mentioning. But, yeah. pleading for help might be the way to go."

"Okay... Call the expert about the... vault thing that the Hyperion guys are looking for or digging up or building or whatever they're doing out there, and then..." Evan shrugged his shoulders a little. "Appeal to her better nature. Um. And really, really hope she's got one. I can do that."

If he made puppy eyes while talking, maybe she could hear those?

Oh, those were going to be useful, since it was going to be a video call! As was perhaps about to become apparent as Electroclash strode towards a computer so she could hook the communicator into it.

"Right, come along," she said. "Sure you look a bit funny, but compared to the two pillocks who tried this yesterday..."

Evan only kind of wrinkled his nose at the 'you look funny' statement. Heck, he knew he did, so it wasn't like he could really argue.

"... Well, I'll try my best," he murmured, following along behind her and watching her work. "Let's give it a try? We don't have much left to lose at this point, I'm guessing."

Riley returned the library at some point, opening his laptop back up and going through several further searches now that he knew where this tech came from and who might be behind it. He was gonna leave further communications to other people.

There was rather an excrutiating waiting period, where it juuuuust almost looked like nothing was going to happen at all. But then the screen blinked to life.

Someone was snoring.

That would be the brunette with her head against the desk that the screen at Pandora end was resting on. A redhead with blue tattoos across her chest was leaning over her, and had obviously been the one to pick up the call. She looked curious. And maybe a little confused.

"Uh, 'sup?"

"Not a whole lot," Electroclash agreed. The communicator was in place, the screen was on... Only one thing left to do. Her voice went electronic, distorted. "|ECHO communicator redial.|"

And then she stepped back, and so began the call.

Billy had a big cup of coffee with him when he got to the library today, but he was keeping it far from the computer as he continued his search for anything useful about Hyperion and Handsome Jack. Mostly, he really wanted to know if Handsome Jack was actually Handsome. That was going to bug him until he knew.

"Um... hi!" Well, this was off to a fantastic start. Evan straightened his tie, a bit of a nervous fidget more than anything, and then attempted a smile at the woman on the other side of the screen. "Sorry, did I wake you up? I'm looking for the Doctor?"

The one whose name he wasn't going to attempt, because if Electroclash wasn't sure about it, he really didn't want to potentially mess this up by giving a totally wrong name.

"Dr. Tannis?" the woman checked, pointing at the passed out figure next to her. Then something seemed to occur to her. "Wait, does that mean someone actually did call her yesterday? Because I thought those were just... you know, ravings."

Because Tannis got that way sometimes.
