School Auditorium: Auditions, beginning Noonish.

The lights are up up on the stage, and Dewey sits in the middle of the center aisle of seats, a notebook and pen in hand, and his iPod at the ready in case there are any lulls in auditions.

Yes, that is seriously how low-key Dewey has set up auditions. Get up on stage and do your monologue and sing your song, and you shall be properly auditioned.

Jaye camps out and watches.

Seriously, she brought popcorn.

Parker joins her a while after her audition, and rolls her eyes. "Can I possibly bribe you to forget what you saw?"

"It'd have to be a reeeeeeally good bribe," says Jaye.

"Like what? Boykissy with your boyfriend good, or Mastercard 'It's everywhere you want to be' good?" Parker threw back another kernel of popcorn. "My only consolation is there's no way I'm getting cast based on that."

"I haven't decided yet," says Jaye. "So why'd you do it?"

"Rory guilted me, and my Little Brother guilted me, and I'm pretty damn sure they're not casting me for a comedy based on a Greek tragic reading. Seriously, can you see me in this play?" Parker snorted. "Although I think a couple people have been good. God, Quinn was pretty decent. Who knew?"

"That little drama queen? I woulda taken that bet."

She frowns. "I don't even know what play we're doing."

Parker smirked. "Midsummer Night's Dream, by Shakespeare. Although there's no singing in it, so I don't know *what* they're going to warp it with if they're asking us to sing in auditions. Come on. Don't you want to be up there, jazz-handing again? Don't you miss it?"

Jaye jazz handses at her.

"These," she says, looking at her hands, "are timeless. I taught snow monsters how to jazz hands."

"They should work them into this play then." Parker jazz handed back at Jaye. "As a tradition! Fairies with rhythm! Puck goes punk!"

There's a long silence, and Jaye says. "God dammit, now I have to suggest it."

Parker chortled,way too amused. "DEATH has left, I just talked to his roommate. You have to carry on, Jaye! Like--" Parker does *not* say 'someone broken' but it's a close thing. "--a trouper! Or a trooper! Hee."

"I am not jazz handsing if I land the role," Zero said as she retreated from her own audition. "Ooh, is that popcorn?"

"Have some, you were great," Parker said, offering over the bag. "Puck, I'm guessing? I hope you get it." She snickered. "Did you see Harris's audition? I think he has as much chance as I do."

"Are you trying out? Will you be my minion?" Rory asked Jaye by way of greeting.

"Oh, no no no. I watch. ~~And mock. And laugh.~~ I'll jazz hands from the audience."

"Woe," Rory said. "You should try out. I'm directing with Cordy. It'll be fun."

Jaye shakes her head. A lot. "Short of a gremlin bite, you're not getting me up there," she says. "And even then, I might run away from school first."

"Damn." Rory took a seat, pouting. "Oh well. I'm totally going to love bossing these people around."

"You should totally get a whip," she suggests.

"Kinky," Rory said, blinking a little. "Not sure I feel that way about my cast."

"Not dirty," Jaye tells her. "Though with this school, I wouldn't be surprised if... Nevermind."

"No dirty!" Rory said, shaking her head.

"I said no dirty!" Jaye tells her. "You're the one dirtifying things."

"Am not," Rory replied. "Just clarifying. This will be a clean production."
