School Auditorium: Auditions, beginning Noonish.

The lights are up up on the stage, and Dewey sits in the middle of the center aisle of seats, a notebook and pen in hand, and his iPod at the ready in case there are any lulls in auditions.

Yes, that is seriously how low-key Dewey has set up auditions. Get up on stage and do your monologue and sing your song, and you shall be properly auditioned.

After the audition, MacB stood around pondering why he was doing this.
There was something about the writings of this Shakespeare guy that made his sense of reason twitch. A man's head turning into that of an ass? Seriously, how unlikely was that?
He was pretty certain that this Shakespeare guy was just full of hot air, but he wasn't about to say it.
So he stood about, looking over a script with one skeptically raised eyebrow.

Parker's Little Brother heard the chortling and recognized it immediately, making his way over to her.
"Parker, lass! How are you?"

"Enjoying myself far, far too much. Popocorn?" Parker offered. "I really liked your dramatic reading, Mac. Very heartfelt." She grinned.

MacB bowed his head in humble gratitude.
"Thank you, Parker. I tried to choose something that I felt was a good example of modern stageplay. I'm not entirely sure how I did, but I gave it my all." He paused. "And ye, lass? Are ye auditioning?"

"Not unless someone forces me." She chuckled. "Do you know this play? All the women end up looking stupid at one point or another."

Rory stuck her head in, curious to see what she and Cordy might be working with. "Parker? You're trying out? Yay!"

"Ohhh, no. I came to appreciate the arts, not participate in them." Parker threw back another kernel of popcorn. "Some of them don't suck!"

"C'mon, Parker lass," MacB joined in. "I auditioned, you might as well. I'm sure the script isn't as bad as all that."

He hated the script. He still thought this Shakespeare guy was a sad excuse for a playwright. But he needed to get involved in something, and it might as well be this.

Parker glared at her Little Brother, then at the whiny person who claimed to be her friend, and gave up. "Oh, *fine*. But don't say I didn't warn you. I'm auditioning under protest, don't expect Meryl Streep!"

MacB looked confused, but he still felt slightly victorious.

He liked the smell of victory. It smelled like popcorn.

Parker shoved the bag at him and said, "Hold this. Don't eat it all. I'll be back for the rest. Stop grinning, would you?"

Then she stalked off to the stage.

And casually proceeded to munch on it as he waited to see Parker audition.

Mmmm. Modern food was tasty.

"Is the corner for people who are refusing to audition but getting to mock? By the way, thanks for the shoes." Alanna handed the back to Parker and tried not to fall asleep on her feet.

"Thanks. Although Rory's giving me such a hard time, I think I'm obliged to prove to her what a bad idea it is." Parker put the shoes under her seat. "Don't mock *me* too much. I'm under duress."

"Then you're not in any danger of getting cast, are you? Any more than I am. C'mon, Alanna. Rory wants to direct one of her friends," Parker added in a sing-song chant. "Five minutes and it's over."
