How to Steal a Princess, Friday

At the front of the class today, there stood the teacher and a drum-set. Because when you thought about kidnapping princesses, didn't your mind also go to some bad ass drum solos? Well it should have.

"You can't just go into the stealing princesses business without being able to back it up," the Ice King said as though people were really that interested in kidnapping. Maybe they were, though. You don't know. Someone might think he was a cool, happening dude. "You gotta be able to woo her. And what's better than music to make the ladies swoon?"

There was no swooning. There had never been swooning. There never will be swooning.

"Today we're gonna have a hip jam session," he added. "Because playing an instrument says things. Things like 'I'm a cool guy. I don't always smell like moldy gym socks on a hot day. You wanna date me like nobody's business.'"

None of that worked. But on the plus side? Goofing off day!

"So get to work!"

Raven looked around and spotted a colorful little toy xylophone in the corner. "That one, there. With the little metal bars and the wooden mallets."

"That's going to attract women," Cade said dubiously.

"We're doing a jam session hosted by the world's saddest evil king," Raven pointed out. "I don't think a brightly colored toy is going to affect your manliness at this point."

"You've got a point," Cade said. "Do you know 'Dance, Dance Little Ewok'?"

"Not even a little." She held up her triangle. "But I can probably fake it if you hum a few bars."

"It's a children's song," Cade said, humming it. "My dad used to sing it. Badly."

"Well then I'm sure I can at least do your father's version justice."

"Maybe he would have been better if he'd had a triangle," Cade agreed, banging experimentally on the xylophone.

Raven gave the triangle a solemn *ting!* "Could be. It is one of the classiest of instruments, matched only by the wood block or the cow bell."

"We have a bantha bell," Cade offered. "It's like a cow but taller and hairier. The bantha. The bell, as far as I remember, isn't tall or hairy."
