Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were plenty of tables and chairs scattered around the lawn for anyone who wanted to sit down once they'd had their fill of the buffet, or to recover from starting to find out what this place was all about. No one would judge the need to take a mental breather.

Seriously Fandom, wtf flower crowns?

Some of the tables were out in the open, for those who weren't allergic to the sun, and some of the tables were in the shade, or far from the rest of the crowd for those who needed a little more space to process. Wherever people decided to rest, there was space enough for everyone.

[OOC: This is part two of the picnic, separated in an effort to save our browsers for as long as possible. Part one, to run into siblings, roommates and teachers, is over here, though teachers are also welcome in this post, of course. Because the picnic is outside, it is open to all students, teachers and townies!]

Returning to Fandom after their tour of Yeul's world made the island feel a little drab. While the pink crown sitting on her crest livened things up visually, it hadn't quite yanked Liara out of her mild post-trip funk.

She sat at the edge of the group, eating slowly. She was considering going back inside.

Okay, so the girl on the bus with the wings had apparently been an alien. But she'd looked more human.

This girl was very... blue. And had tentacles for hair.

Hence Raleigh staring like a slack-jawed yokel. Terribly sorry, Liara.

Liara didn't realize he was staring at her until a few moments later. She looked up and... "Goddess," she said, more sharply than she'd really intended. "Can I help you?"

Liara relented a little, because she had her own experiences with that feeling. "I am aware," she offered. "I just grow tired of being stared at all the time."

Karolina was a little less overly enthusiastic in her greeting of Liara than she'd been in greeting Jim. It didn't mean she wasn't equally thrilled to see her. It was just a different thing.

So she was biting on her lip as she came closer.

Liara had not expected to hear that voice... any time soon. Disbelief crept into her voice as she replied, "Karolina?"

That was a little inane and a little obvious, and maybe she'd thought about how this would go beforehand but she couldn't remember what she'd been thinking of saying. So she said that.
