For once, Ender had sent out an invite to his students to show up to the Danger Shop, not the lawn. Entering through the doors would get them into what looked like a large airlock, with rounded walls in stark whites and greys. There was a bigger door up ahead; Ender was standing right in front of it.

"It's a little warm outside," he said, "And it's been a quiet week. So I thought I'd try something different."

He reached out and rapped his knuckles on one of the walls. "Different for you, but not different for me," he said. "My old school used this technique to prompt us to think out of the box. I'm going to give you some time to adjust before we talk this time. Call it a lesson in perspective."

Then he opened up the door and hurled himself into the room ahead, folding his legs under him. Zero gravity meant that his momentum carried him. He caught his movement on the opposing wall with extreme grace, bouncing off at a different angle, and then another one, and then another.

Eventually he hooked his feet under a set of handholds. The way he was standing, the opening from the door was right above him. He had to look up to look at his students.

"There are a lot of issues involved in what Fandom does to us," he said. "Issues of consent. Issues of privacy. Issues of bodily autonomy. It can be easy to disregard that sometimes it's useful to experience something from a different point of view - not that that makes any of those other issues irrelevant. Orient yourself. Then we can share some experiences."

There are many handholds along the walls, and Danger Shop protocols are set so you can't hurt yourself. But it's still zero gravity. Not everyone's as used to it as Ender obviously is...

It only took a few moments for Cade to orient himself, finding a spot as far away from Ender as possible.

He noted Ender's location from the entrance. The enemy's gate is down.

"Cute," he muttered.

Gert was very, very wary about entering this thing, and it showed. She gripped a handhold near the entrance tight with both hands and wasn't even going to think about letting go and descending (ascending?) further into the room.

Cade waved from where he was perched on the side of the wall. "It's fun," he said. "Like freefalling. You're not scared, are you?"

Flick hated that it took him awhile to get himself centered and to get his stomach to stop roiling with the sudden change in gravity. He'd never been great at sudden changes like that. The weaker brother and all.

But, once he had a good grip and felt like he wasn't going to hurl, he got a little less tense.

Kathy had no idea how this was happening, but she didn't care! This was remarkably fun! It took her a few minutes to get used to the sensation of floating, but soon she was going through one of her easiest gymnastic routines.

Settle? Pffft. Minako was going to do her best impression of a human volleyball, thanks, and throw herself into the space to bounce around for a bit.

The gravity thing didn't bother her. It was weird but, man, Karina was more surprised that she hadn't been forced to do it before for training at home.

It was tempting to have some fun with the gravity (she wondered how one of her dance routines would work) but she was busy frowning at the lecture.

Sparkle probably looked utterly ridiculous as he flipped ass over teakettle over and over and over again in mid-air on his way to a handhold on the far wall.

But Sparkle was too busy whooping like an idiot to really care.

"So," Ender said, once it looked like everyone was in a safe place. "Which ones of you have already experienced Fandom's peculiar tendencies towards transformation? Or maybe the bout of singing here a little while ago? Has it helped you think about your experiences in a different light? About another's perspectives?"

The floor was open to anything else, too.

"I think it's not nearly as hard to be a girl as they sometimes make it seem," Cade offered. "Plus having your own breasts is astral."

Gert was more than a little disoriented by the setting, so it took her a while to talk and her voice was wavering somewhat when she finally did. "I'm really into accountability and taking responsibility for your actions," she offered at last. "So living somewhere where it really is okay to say 'It wasn't me, I was gremlin-bit' or whatever is kind of unsettling sometimes. In the real world, you shouldn't be able to do that."

"Just the singing," Kathy said, latching onto one of the bars in the room. Floating was fun, but also a little disorienting to have to think. "But I get stuff from other people's point of view all the time. It's hard getting them to think of mine."

And then she realized that she was probably thinking too much about everything. "Never mind. That has nothing to do with island stuff anyway."

Get back into the airlock, where actual sandwiches will be waiting for you. Ender figures at least some of you are probably dependent on that for breakfast...

HA. Like Sparkle was ever going to settle? Even outside of a zero-gravity situation, he was pretty much the living definition of a guy who didn't believe in settling, thanks.

But, if you could catch him today, he was totally willing to have a chat, sure!
