Flight- Monday- 3rd period

If Jaina had known what was going to happen this week- or if she'd clued in more than vaguely knowing something was up- the students would have a class in the Danger Shop. In the open. And it wouldn't be a team effort. Instead, they were back in the flight shed this week.

"So if you're flying, every once in a while you're going to run into a situation where you need to work with others," Jaina began. "It'll happen if you need instructions, if you're working in tandem with another person, if you're part of a squadron, whatever. So today we're going to run through a simulation from before my time, the Battle of Hoth. You're flying two-person snowspeeders, with a pilot facing the front and working the turbolasers, and a cargo manager facing the back, working with the harpoon and tow cables. Your job is to work together to defend a power generator against the enemy. Try not to fake kill anyone but them."

Get in the sim in pairs to defend the power generator against AT-AT's. The lasers won't do any good against them, which you should figure out pretty quick.

Cade was looking for a partner (dirty, totally dirty) and was wondering why he has having so much trouble handling his instruments today.

Emily noticed him looking for a partner. That could not end well.

"For you or me?" he asked, arching an eyebrow. "I'm good both places."

"For you of course; I'm willing to bet you're way better at this than me anyway," she replied as she shrugged. "I'll just try to keep up."

Please excuse Emily if she unconsciously licked her lips while he was talking.

"Yeah, I'm sure of that. So- er, let's fly this thing." Or rather, try to fly the snowspeeder while looking at Cade every ten seconds or so.

Did that sound wrong? Maybe that sounded wrong.

Emily needed a moment to reassure herself they were still talking about piloting the ship. What else could they be talking about anyway, right?

"I have no idea of what ryscate is, but I guess I'll have to trust that...steady hand?"

Topher was finding himself mostly oblivious to sex pollen, at least as far as humans were concerned, but he totally wanted a go at one of those airspeeders. Pronto, if at all possible. He was fidgeting a bit - but once again, not for sex pollen reasons - as he waited for a partner.

Also fidgety for completely non-pollen reasons (because he'd have to be less oblivious about hormones to be aware of that, and haha no), Anakin eyed him dubiously. "How are you with handling harpoons?"

Please, like he was going to willingly relinquish handling the stick to anyone else. The control stick, people. Focus here.

As far as Anakin was concerned nobody stickhandled like he did, thank you.

"Please, that's basic stuff," he scoffed. "All you have to do is shoot it where you want it to go. Unless that's too hard for you?"

"It's actually too easy for me," Topher countered. "I won't feel challenged. And since this is a class and I'm supposed to be learning..."

"How do you know it's too easy?" argued Anakin, because he was stubborn and also kind of entitled. "Have you even done it before?"

"I can't answer that and get my way without contradicting myself from forty seconds ago," Topher mused. That was unfortunate.

Topher decided to evade the question, like a boss. "Was it too hard for you?" he wanted to know. "Maybe you should do it since you have more experience."

Victor climbed into the sim and gave the dashboard a once-over. "These controls don't look too hard," he said. (He might have been overconfident.) "How are yours?"

"Not too difficult... I guess." Yeah, she wasn't sure but she also hadn't messed up anything too badly in this class before. "But I'm still glad this is just a sim."

"I really wish we didn't have to bring anyone down." Because she was a hippie, that's why. "But I guess the simulation doesn't work if no one goes down."

Victor went a little purple. "Well, but it's a battle sim," he said. "It can't just be about hugging and holding hands and that solves everything. Somebody has to .. go down."
