Flight- Monday- 3rd period

If Jaina had known what was going to happen this week- or if she'd clued in more than vaguely knowing something was up- the students would have a class in the Danger Shop. In the open. And it wouldn't be a team effort. Instead, they were back in the flight shed this week.

"So if you're flying, every once in a while you're going to run into a situation where you need to work with others," Jaina began. "It'll happen if you need instructions, if you're working in tandem with another person, if you're part of a squadron, whatever. So today we're going to run through a simulation from before my time, the Battle of Hoth. You're flying two-person snowspeeders, with a pilot facing the front and working the turbolasers, and a cargo manager facing the back, working with the harpoon and tow cables. Your job is to work together to defend a power generator against the enemy. Try not to fake kill anyone but them."

Please excuse Emily if she unconsciously licked her lips while he was talking.

"Yeah, I'm sure of that. So- er, let's fly this thing." Or rather, try to fly the snowspeeder while looking at Cade every ten seconds or so.

"This'll be a piece of ryscate," Cade assured her. "I've always had a steady hand on the stick."

Did that sound wrong? Maybe that sounded wrong.

Emily needed a moment to reassure herself they were still talking about piloting the ship. What else could they be talking about anyway, right?

"I have no idea of what ryscate is, but I guess I'll have to trust that...steady hand?"

"It's like space cake," Cade said, trying to jump smoothly into the ship and missing entirely. He could have sworn he knew where the karking ladder had been.

"Ow."

"Space cake," Emily repeated with incredulity. "How's that not the same than gravity-bound cake?"

Her little mockery lost a lot of strength when she almost trips and falls twice as she tried to get into the ship herself, though.

"Because it comes from space, obviously," Cade said, turning to talk to her and managing to strap himself into the cockpit with issue because he wasn't actually looking at the things. Now let's go shoot some stuff."

At least until he found out the lasers didn't work.
