FH Library, 2/14

When she gets to the library, Angela is pleased to see her gifts for the other aides have been delivered and are beautiful as expected.

She props herself on a stool behind the counter and starts listening to a playlist of the most romantic songs she knows on her iPod, because she's a sap like that.

The library is open for business.

Angela has gone back to her room and found the roses, and she's basically floating.

Marty can't seem to wipe the grin off his face that he's had since Sunday.

He wanders into the library for the first time in what seems like months to... look at some books. Really.

Angela basically accosts him when he walks in. "You!," she says, affectionately. "I got the roses."

"I got yours as well," Marty says schmoopily. "Thank you. I guess we both had the same thing in mind when we ordered them."

"Yeah," Angela says, reaching out to hold his hand. "I ordered yours Sunday before we talked."

She grins. "This feels really right, this time."

"It really does," Marty said intertwined his fingers with hers and squeezed gently. "Sorry I didn't make it to the party last night. Did you have fun?"

"Kind of?" Angela said, squeezing his hand back. "Most of it was fun, but there was this ... creature in the library and it bit my ankle. Isabel Evans stomped it."

"Also, Ms. Cregg said something about Puddin' Pants and you needing to apologize to her." It's clear she isn't sure which is weirder.

"Are you okay?" Marty said leaning down to look at Angela's ankles. "Did you go to the clinic to get checked out? You don't have any urges to sing or dress up like the principal, do you?"

Marty's expression becomes embarrassed at the mention of "Puddin' Pants." "Uh yeah. That's her nickname for me. Not sure how that came about. I'll try and drop by to see her sometime this week."

Angela reached down, rolling up her jeans and poushing down a sock to show Marty her scabbing ankle. "It's just a nip. No wackiness, thank god. Itches a little."

She raised an eyebrow, but decided she really, really didn't want to know anything else about the Puddin' Pants thing.

A look of relief crossed Marty's face, which he promptly covered up with a look of mock-seriousness.

"This could be a serious. Who knows what kind of damage it caused? I'm thinking that I better keep a close eye on you tonight. Just in case. Maybe limit your exposure to other people in case you might be contagious."

Angela grinned, then covered it with her own serious look. "I agree," she said. "You need to protect me and make sure I don't embarass myself, or anything."

"Should we plan on spending the night in my room, just in case?"

Kiki comes into the library. Given how often she was at the bookstore, it's both odd as well as understandable that she's never even been in the library before. She comes up to the desk.

"Um, sorry to interrupt," she says ~~and doubly sorry because her mun loves the Cure liek whoa~~, "but I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of Special Collections. I've got a note here," she fumbles in her notebook and holds out a slip of paper (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/586784.html?thread=28678944#t28678944), "from Ms. Calendar for a few books."

"Definitely," Marty said cracking a grin. "And I'll bring a kit of anti-monster venom for you just in case. Like chocolate, strawberries, maybe a bottle of champagne in case the bite is more serious than we thought."

Angela read the note closely; it seemed to be in order. She filed it away. "No problem," she said, reaching into a drawer below the desk to pull out two sets of special dragonskin gloves. She handed one to Kiki and put on another. "These should not leave your hands in Special Collections. It's through those double doors -- want to follow me?"

"Plus, we could use champagne as a disinfectant," ANgela noted. "And strawberries have Vitamin C, which is really good for you."

She twisted her hair onto the top of her head and let it fall. "What time would you come by?"

She'd heard things about Special Collections, but she'd in no way thought even the tamest of the rumors could be true. Blinking a little and pulling on the gloves, she wonders if she shouldn't reassess that position.

"Lead on," she says at last, following Angela. "Um - is it really very dangerous in there?"

"Depends on how deep you go," Angela answered. "It looks like these are in the blue section, mostly, which is just a little odd. But further in you get some books that will bite you, and others that -- um, one once brought in this old me from an another dimension."

"So wear the gloves and be careful."

[OOC: How much of an adventure are you looking for? I need to wait for some other library staff to get back to me if you want anything major, because I don't have the SC login handy. Sorry.]

"Sevenish? Maybe I'll bring some dinner along. Chinese sound good?"

Marty then dug his hand in his pocket and pulled out something in his hand. "And I wasn't sure if you wanted... um... this back (http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a244/oatmanspatient/A15.jpg) or not."

Rory walked in with a very squirmy bag over one shoulder, looking rather pleased.

And then she saw Angela's gift, and her grin widened. "Aw. For me? Really?"
