FH Library, 2/14

When she gets to the library, Angela is pleased to see her gifts for the other aides have been delivered and are beautiful as expected.

She props herself on a stool behind the counter and starts listening to a playlist of the most romantic songs she knows on her iPod, because she's a sap like that.

The library is open for business.

"Jackie Wilson Said," Van Morrison

"Angela?" Blair came in and stood in front of the counter, and held out a couple of things wrapped in tissue paper (http://www.laurasecord.ca/en/images/valentine/image12.jpg). "These are for you! Happy Valentines day!"

"Candy!," Angela laughed. "This is actually my first gift of the day. Thank you, Blair."

"Cool!" Blair bounced and smiled. "I was going to ask you out on a date but the rumor is that you're back together with your boyfriend. But you still get candy for being an awesome person!"

Angela smiled. "Yeah, the rumors are right, I don't think it would work so well for us to go out on a date," she acknowledged. "Which is too bad, 'cause you're pretty awesome too, for a freshman."

Blair grinned. "For a freshman, huh? I may have to steal back my candy bears if you're going to take that kind of attitude."

"Sorry," Angela said amiably. "Juniors are automatically cooler than freshmen. It's a rule. And you can't take back the bears. They're mine."

Blair sighed and bounced. "Well, seniors are cooler than juniors so don't think you're on top or anything!"

"Oh, I completely respect the school hierarchy," Angela agreed. "And ... did you just sigh and bounce at the same time? Because usually I can only manage one. Usually the sighing."

Blair bounced forward and dropped his backpack on the counter. "Okay Angela, stand up. You take a deep breath in and bounce up and then it out when you bounce down. Try it!"

Angela tried it.

And burst out laughing.

"Maybe I just don't bounce enough in general."

Blair bounced again and laughed with her. "It was a good try. You should bounce more. Especially since you seem so happy now!"

"I am!," Angela answered. "And I'll work on my bouncing."

She bounced a few times, experimentally. "So why were you going to ask me out, anyhow? I mean, not that I'm not flattered."

Blair grinned and bounced back. "I asked John if he knew single people to date last week and you were one of the names he gave. But also because we're friends and I like you."

Parker came in looking perplexed after ACJ, and then happy but chagrined when she saw the presents. "Oh, wow. You shouldn't have, I didn't even think of anything. Damnit, I'm getting you guys pie, now."

Angela shrugged. "Yeah, I wasn't sure if Marty would actually want the flowers I bought for him, so I got stuff for you guys so at least I'd make somebody happy. If that makes sense."

She indicated one of the packages for Parker. "Who's the guy who's calling you by the hated name?"

Parker cocked an eyebrow at the roses, frowned at the name, then rolled her eyes and smiled ruefully at the message in Italian. "Ex-boyfriend. He sends these to all his ex-girlfriends on Valentine's Day. Of which, to be fair, there are only two. He is so hearing from me about the name. He knows better." She sniffed them and shook her head. "Idiota."

"An idiota who sends roses cannot be all bad," Angela speculated. "What was he like?"

"Older. Sophisticated, at least I thought so then." Parker smiled in remembrance. "He was studying at the religious college near the convent school I was attending in Rome. We used to go out on his motorcycle to the markets around the city, and hit the bars after-hours. He got me my fake ID."

"Jordan got mine," Angela said, a little embarassed. "Only he messed it up, the first time. And then I lost it anyhow."

"But he sounds much, much cooler than Jordan."

"He was, until I beat him at sparring just once, and Giusseppe never really got over it." She glared at the roses. "I had four years experience on him! He shouldn't have been so upset." Parker shrugged. "He's studying to be a priest now. It's probably better it ended when it did. But he was bellisima, while it lasted."

"I'm glad you and Marty got back together in time for Valentine's Day. It means more, somehow."

"You drove him to the seminary?" Angela laughed. "Yeah, it is better it ended when it did. You don't wanna come between somebody and god, you know?"

She nodded. "I was telling Rory last weke that I was going to just spend tonight in my room eating ice cream. Which I may still do, but ... it won't be alone. Did you make plans with Jack or Jarod or anyone?"

"It's not like he wasn't thinking about it before!" Parker protested, lips quirking. "I think maybe I just convinced him being married to God would be simpler after all."

"Nope, no plans. Jack's birthday being yesterday I'm sure he forgot all about it. And it's not like Jarod would plan for something like that with me," Parker said, keeping her voice light. "Which is fine." She stroked one rose petal. "Better alone than with the wrong guy."

"That's true," Angela agreed. "You probably need some time to unwqind after that party anyhow."

[OOC: Offline for the night, bye.]

"God, yes," Parker said feelingly. "You can do the romance thing for both of us this year."
