Library, Thursday All Day
There was a black and white kid in a black and white suit working in the library today. He bustled about getting his work done efficiently and with a smile on his face, just happy to be able to go to school in a place with a library that was this fantastic. And when the books acted up today, a bunch of vintage motorcycle magazines getting into a scuffle that left them dog-eared and worn, he just sighed, scolded the lot of them, and then set to work patiently smoothing out the creases in the pages.
This, of course, wasn't any different from any other Thursday. Evan still hadn't noticed that anything was amiss around the school. He was a tiny bit too antisocial for that sort of thing.

Talk to Evan!
... In fact, once he notices, he'll probably just start feeling homesick all over again.

Re: Talk to Evan!
"America when will we end the human war?" He gave Victor a wry smile. "We probably have a lot of his work in the poetry section. And William S. Burroughs and Jack Kerouac, and all kinds of stuff like that."
And he'd gone merrily prancing through and reading most of it since coming here, yes.
Re: Talk to Evan!
"Thanks, I'll head over there. Gotta say, I kind of thought you were a square when I saw your get-up. Guess you have to wear it to work, huh?"
Re: Talk to Evan!
"I don't really have to, but it can't hurt to look professional while I'm working," he offered. "Back home I'd usually wear my baseball jacket and a t-shirt and jeans."
Because doing farm chores in a suit would be stupid.
Re: Talk to Evan!
"See, I used to dress that way," Victor nodded. "Then I started reading more and hanging out in the park with my bongos, and my mind expanded. You should try."
Re: Talk to Evan!
There was probably a reason for that.
Re: Talk to Evan!
Suddenly, he brightened, bent over and retrieved a set from his gray knapsack. (Of course he always carried them around; what kind of beat would he be, otherwise?) "Here. You tap-a-tap on these, I'll go find some poetry."
Re: Talk to Evan!
Evan was really starting to wonder what kind of weirdness the island was throwing around today, yeah, but he didn't want to be rude, so he took the little drums, set them on the desk, and gave them an experimental tap-a-tap, just like he'd been instructed to do.
They had a neat sound to them, he had to admit, and he found himself smiling and just noodling around with rhythms while he waited for Victor to return.
Re: Talk to Evan!
"See?" he asked. "Totally makes any day a little bit better."
Re: Talk to Evan!
Oh, Uncle Cluster would be thrilled about that.

"It sounds like fun," he decided. "I might end up having to eat a lot of oatmeal before I can manage getting a pair, but once I do, I'll be sure to let you know."
Re: Talk to Evan!
"That'll be neat," he said. "Stay cool and I'll see you later, okay?"
Re: Talk to Evan!
With a smile like that, Evan was going to have to get some bongos now, wasn't he?
OOC!
