All Across the Island, Sunday Morning through Afternoon

The time for a final strike had finally arrived. The prisoners of detention had been freed, powers and abilities had been returned, and all that remained was Umbridge, and her still-faithful Loyalists.

It was time to pick a side, and bring Umbridge's reign to an end.

The thing about taking a prisoner (http://lockeunlocked.livejournal.com/876.html) (and wasn't that a weird thought, that he had a prisoner. Seriously, this was, like, Advanced) was that eventually Peter needed to be given food. And so did Topher, for that matter. Food was great.

So, armed with his sonic disruptor just in case, he left Peter in the warehouse where they'd set up and took off for some Mooby Land burgers. Surely nothing could go wrong while he was just grabbing some food, right?

Kenzi was not about the research. She was about the good fight. And burgers. So she was doing something similar with a couple charge cards she'd lifted from people over the course of yesterday, in order to bring fine cuisine to escaped prisoners.

The only downside was that there were other types out, so of course she'd brought her bat.

And there was Topher. Shit.

Topher's hand was on his disruptor as soon as he saw someone approaching, but he relaxed slightly when he saw that it was Kenzi. She was on the good side, as far as he knew. Meaning Umbridge's, naturally.

"Hey," he called. "Taking a snack break?"

...whew. Her cover was still intact. Woo!

"Yup. Gotta keep my strength up for taking out those rebels," she said breezily, waving the bat a little. "You? How's your war going? See the Headmistress?"

Well, he had just spent most of yesterday in a warehouse. He was a little behind the times.

"Not yet," he answered. "Been busy fighting. Protecting the island. Being a badass. You know."

"As you do," Kenzi agreed, giving the crazy whatever-it-was he was hanging onto a long look. "Hey, is that your newest toy?"

"Yup," he confirmed, holding it up for her to admire from a distance. "No touchy, though. Because some people think it's okay to grab things and run away, and it'd be weird sending Victor to hunt you down and all, so..."

"So weird." Kenzi looked thoughtful, and said, "Soooo you've just been zapping people with that, and you don't know where the Headmistress is, and we don't have any more news?"

"Nope," he summed up. "Not from me, anyway."

Kenzi would've loved to see his face if she quipped something like, Then this conversation is over! but then he would've seen it coming when she swung her bat as hard as she could at the disruptor.

For a moment Topher just stared as his toy was knocked out of his hands and onto the ground, where it shattered.

"Dude!"

"Dude!" Kenzi responded with immense satisfaction, giving the fucking thing one or two more bashes.

Then she wound up and bonked Topher on the skull.

And that last bonk was all it took to knock him out. Still shocked, because seriously, his poor toy!

But ahem. Unconscious now, so.

"Yes!" Kenzi beamed down at him, resisting the urge to get in some more gratuitous violence. "Right. Soo....Hmm. Rickshaw. Duct tape. And about 500 Sharpies for drawing on him."

There was a storage closet with his name on it back at the school.
